Brown Hall Dorm Reviews at UGA

It is really nice to have suite bathrooms instead of community bathrooms. Bathrooms are cleaned every 2 weeks by custodial staff. The rooms are really big other than the apartment style dorms, Brown Hall has the biggest dorm rooms. Brown Hall is the cheapest dorm on campus by atleast $1000. Generally it is considered an upperclassman dorm, but I stayed there as a freshman. It has a really amazing community and if you want friends you can easily have a group to hang out with at Brown Hall. Its biggest con is the distance it is from campus it is a 5 minute car ride and about a 20 to 30 min bus ride depending on traffic and a 1 hour walk to main campus. This can be really inconvenient if you don't have a car or parking spot on main campus. It is located on the Health Sciences Campus so we have our own dining hall The Niche which is great and the staff take care of all of the Brown Hall kids, but it isn't open on the weekends so if you are on a meal plan you either have to find a way to main campus or wait for the buses to start in the afternoon. The staff is amazing and you can tell everyone at Brown Hall really cares about each other. While a lot of people don't want to stay at Brown Hall because of its distance from main campus it is a great way to have cheaper housing, quieter dorm, and still get the dorm vibes of living that you can't get from an apartment.

Brown Hall is a very nice hall to stay in your first years at SDSU. One thing about the rooms in brown hall is that you end up losing a little space in your room from the heater/ac. Most of the dorms will have small wall heaters with small ac units in the windows. Brown has the heater and ac combined and you lose about a foot and a half from that. I am an ag major so most of my classes are on the other side of campus but most of the lecture halls are within 10 mins or less of Brown Hall. This is a nice hall and I would definitely recommend staying in Brown Hall your first year or years at SDSU.

It's pretty alright, you have plenty of utilities like study rooms and laundries. There's a lounge with vending machines near the entrance as well as several bathrooms. It's kind of out of the way so you'll have to travel by bus to get places, but there's a nearby dining hall (The Niche) that's very good.
