Wallace Residence Center Dorm Reviews at University of Idaho

It has been quite nice; I believe that I would like to stay on campus next semester. It is quite noisy in the day but at night it seems to get better. I appreciate how you are allowed to request room changes.

I lived in the Wallace Residence Center for two academic years. My freshman year in Gooding was fine. It was a dorm room so I wasn't expecting great things, however there were many maintenance problems in the common areas that were never fixed. My sophomore year was in Stevenson and it was better, but the common areas were worse quality and there was always a strange smell throughout the wing.

No Air conditioning was a big bummer. SO HOT for months and just a small window to open at night for air. My floor was LOUD all night long, the RA didn't really do much to help that. The laundry was downstairs and it was nice that it would text you when your load was finished.

Quiet, and easy to live connected or disconnected with your roommates. It's nice to live right next to the HUB. The showers could be better, but it's nice to have a shower only shared with a few others, and a sink/mirror only shared with 1 other person!

These dorms are very welcoming and I have had a great overall experience with them so far. They have a great abundance of storage and offer thick walls to keep the room quiet. The dining hall is located in the very middle of the building which is very convenient on days that it snows. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly as well as easy to contact. Each hall in Wallace is slightly different because of how the RA's decorate them. I am fortunate to have a great RA who is very creative, understanding, and passionate.

There were a lot of areas for us to hang out as well as a lot of friendly people but the dorm itself is a bit depressing. The staff there doesn't really care about you and most of them are fairly rude and it looks like an old prison, but its a good location on campus.

Overall the place is pretty clean and the dorms are decent. The commons area is a little bland for the floor, but that is made up with the the main commons area in the basement for the whole building being pretty great. Do plan on a 10 minute walk to most of your classes.

The staff was very efficient with their job and the residents were respectful to each other. Noise was rarely an issue and the location of the dorm was only a short walk from campus. The dorms provided a lot of useful resources such like a computer lab, several study rooms, a few relaxation spots and a dining area in the middle of the complex.

Great place to stay freshman year, the only thing I wished for was more than one communal kitchen (although not necessary because most everyone had a meal plan). Other than that, it was a wonderful place to live.

The dorms are definitely outdated so there was a musty smell that was concerning for mold. The wing was quiet and great for studying in your room. The common area was not set up apropos due was scarce when it came to furniture.

Good and helpful people around, playground and parking close by. Love the basement! I gave a 4 star to bathrooms as there is no exhaust fan apart form that every thing is excellent. Hub is close by don’t have to go out in the snow to eat.
