Blazer Hall Dorm Reviews at UK

I am currently a freshman here at UK. I love the atmosphere. It felt like home the first day I walked in. I knew immediately this would be the place for me. The four person suite was a blessing in disguise. Who knew that having four people living in a dorm would be so fun. I have met my bestfriends here and need to thank this college for that!

After taking a while to see if I would attend UK or not, I was placed on the waitlist through UK housing. I was so scared of having “bad” roommates or a terrible room but I’ve been blessed with both great roommates and a cozy place to live on campus! They’re always including to everyone!

My experience at Blazer Hall was anything but enjoyable. I moved out of state for the first time to live in my dorm when I was 17. I was five hours away from anyone I knew and it was way more scary than what I imagined. My roommates often left me out being that they grew up in the city where our college was. Half their high school went to our college so there was always new people in our dorm. Now, this might sound fun and a good way to make friends but when your friends shut your door so you're alone in your room while they are having fun... it's not so fun. Besides the bad roommates there was puke stains all over the carpet and was just not good.

I lived here during my freshman year of college Fall 2021-2022. I lived in a quad room meaning I had 3 other roommates. I did enjoy having my own room but the housing department at University of Kentucky were terrible.

For the most part it's been fine, some weird employees worked there for a bit but they've been let go. I've met several friends here, I think most people would. Blazer is also home to a couple good LLPs (Living Learning Programs).

I am near a window with a table outside so it is a little noisy. Also, the bathroom light is dim and it has been hard to get it changed but otherwise, it is good. The location is great as it is near food and the bookstore. I also feel very safe in this dorm.

I have been living here since the beginning of my sophomore year and it has definitely been my favorite place to be on campus. It is near everything that I need including the gym, the café and several stores.

I am going on my second semester at Blazer Hall and I think this is the absolute best dorm to stay in while attending the University of Kentucky. The dorm is located right beside everything one needs from the grocery store to the gym!

I love Blazer! Compared to out neighbor, Jewell, the dorm is a lot smaller which I appreciate because the students have a better opportunity to get to know each other. I have made a bunch of new friends. One thing I do regret is not getting into a four person dorm.

Everyone is really nice for the most part. There are some noisy rooms but its college you can't expect everyone to be perfectly quiet. The dorm is close to home, so I can just walk home if I ever needed to.

So far its been good, the floor I stay in is quite it's rare when the floor above me makes to much noise. The room is constantly clean, the RA is chill. We get no complaints and everyone in the floor is friendly.

My experience so far has been great. Blazer is right next to anything that a student here could ask for including: food, classrooms, gym, and the student center. The other residents in this hall are very nice and caring. I have lived in 3 different halls since I have started college and Blazer by far is my favorite one.
