University Terrace (UT) Dorm Reviews at UMES

MY experience here at UT is very comfortable. It feels like home to me. I feel the girls only want to develop good living habits. I know that I have gained multiple healthy living habits here. I also adapted very well to my community here at UT. It is a very humble space.

So far i’ve heard great things about UT and from touring the dorms it looks great. i like how it’s closer to my early math class even though it’s further towards the back of the campus. I can’t wait to move in this fall

I stayed in UT as a sophomore transfer student, although it is a freshman dorm. It definitely wasn't my first choice, but it wasn't terrible. Each bathroom was shared by about 4 girls, so it was up to us to clean it. Each girl was assigned a week to clean, so the other girls didn't care if they made a mess or not. I didn't like that at all. Fines were issued if your area wasn't clean. There were security guards on each floor at night, so safety wasn't much of an issue. There weren't many common areas in the dorm, so "hanging out" wasn't an option. Overall, University Terrace is perfect for someone entering college, but not for anyone that is past their freshman year.

My experience at University Terrace was very relaxed and calm. I currently just ended my first freshman semester while living in University Terrace. I resided on the third floor and sometimes I would walk up the steps due to the elevator only being allowed for two people at a time due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Other than that, there were usually issues that involved cleaning. For example, someone had trash that was leaking and they carried it from the third floor down to the dumpster outside and left the liquid all over the dorm. It left a very pungent smell and the stain from the liquid and the smell weren’t cleaned up until weeks later. The staff there are very helpful and friendly, while also making us aware of rules we may be fined for etc. For the most part, I usually stayed in my room or went to a friend’s dorm. University Terrace is a quiet residency area but sometimes the noise on days of people leaving for parties and coming back can be overwhelming.

Decent size room with big enough furniture to hold all your clothes. Bathroom has stains on the toilet seats, and nice hot showers with good pressure. Most residents are quiet during the day, but can be rude and loud at night.

It was an enjoyable and memorable experience to live in UT as a freshman. As it was my first time having a roommate and living life as a college freshman, I had an overall good time there and will always remember it.
