17th Avenue Residence Hall Dorm Reviews at University of Minnesota

Being in the covid-19 pandemic made it tough for anyone living in dorms. However, the dorm was nice and didn't feel too crammed to me. The dining hall also seems to be the best on campus which is a major plus for the building.

I have met a lot of my friends in this residence hall and the location is great with the places I have to walk to due to being a student-athlete. This is one of the newest dorms and is very nice compared to the other dorms on campus. The food in the dining hall is some of the best on campus according to the many people I have talked to pre-covid.

I am very thankful that I lived at 17th Avenue Residence Hall my freshman year of college. It was a very open and inviting environment that encouraged you to meet other residents at the dorm. As well, the staff was always friendly.

17th avenue is a dorm with prime location (within minutes walk of most east bank classes). It's a very new building and the staff are great here. I loved living at 17th, and I ended up working in the cafeteria in the building.

It honestly the best dorm on campus. It is right next to Dinkytown and the rest of campus. It's pretty social so if that's not your scene, 17th probably isn't the best fit for you. The dining hall has pretty good food, the hours kind of suck though. If you are an incoming freshman at the U, definitely try to get into 17th!

Great location, awesome amenities. Bathrooms, hallways, and study areas are all kept very clean. Laundry area is generally good aside from the occasional broken washer or dryer. About a 5 minute walk to Dinkytown and 1 minute from a great multipurpose trail.

So far, due to Covid-19, I have not been able to spend time with my dorm mates, but the residence hall itself is beautiful. It was built very recently in 2013 and features large common areas, brand new rooms, and a dining hall. The location is perfect, directly in the mix of the campus and one block away from TCF Bank Stadium. If there were games going on this year it would be even better. Overall it’s a very nice place.
