Middlebrook Dorm Reviews at University of Minnesota

People write off Middlebrook for the location, but it's one of the best UofM dorms if you're willing to take 5 extra minutes to cross the bridge a few times a week. Bathrooms are semi-private, and since it has the Honors LLC and a lot of music students, it's typically a quiet space. Rooms are decent-sized and you just need to go downstairs to get food. 8.5/10

I think that Middlebrook is a great dorm and I like how quiet it is compared to other dorms. I wish there were more common areas, especially in the east wing which is where I am most often. I also think the walking distance to classes is a little long, but itβs nice in the fall.

Middlebrook Hall is a bit quieter than the other dorms since it's not located in the super block which is where more people tend to party. The only thing that's inconvenient is that you will have to walk a lot if majority of your classes are in the East Bank.

Looking back, living at Middlebrook was fun, relatively clean, private, and quiet. I'd say it is best for an introvert or someone who feels strongly about needing their own bathroom. The food was okay, the same dorm food as usual, except for lunch there are the best wraps you'll find on campus.

I lived on the top floor of this dormitory. I lived in an arts collective portion of the dorm, so socially I had a great time. It was loud, but I enjoyed the bustle and music from my wing. The rest of the dorm was shabby and very 70s.

It was very accommodating and the dining experience was above par compared to other university dining halls I visited. Generally a very quiet environment and bathrooms are private shared with only one other room.

I was in the honors LLC, and we were probably the loudest floor. The food was monotonous, but all the staff were friendly. The common areas served their purpose well, and it was very nice to have private bathrooms.

Majority of the student in Middlebrook are Honors Students, but the remaining are Art/Performing Arts. Some floors will have students practicing instruments or singing which can be heard throughout the floors. There's always the really loud gamer, but for the most part it's a regular dorm. The worst part is how far away from the rest of campus Middlebrook is. I would not recommend this dorm if you want to be involved on campus.

Middlebrook is located on the West Bank Campus of the Twin-Cities Campus. The walk to the East bank campus is a good fourth to half mile walk. I enjoyed the longer walk because the campus is so beautiful, especially crossing over the Mississippi.

I lived there my freshman year. There wasnβt much space in the common area. Toilet was broken most of the year in my bathroom. No space in bathroom to set stuff down. Far away from east bank, but I always felt safe walking home. Bathroom was cleaned frequently which was nice. I had no interaction with my RA throughout the year, they never reached out or anything. It was nice to have my own closet in my room.

It really is so far away from the rest of campus. It was always a trek to hang out with others. It's really a hit or miss experience. The people on the honors floors were probably the least approachable. The food was subpar (but most dining halls are).

Middlebrook is a very nice place to live especially for a freshman at the University of Minnesota. Middlebrook is home to many LLCs which can enhance the college experience of someone who decides to join one. I would definitely recommend Middlebrook to a friend.

I had a great freshman year in middlebrook. Yes sometimes the fire alarms didn't seem to be working on my floor, or my shower was strangely part hot and part cold, but my CA was the best, and I made so many great friends in the lounge on floor 12.
