Arrington Hall Dorm Reviews at Mary Washington

Someone left bugs (in sealed containers) in the community freezer that was their senior project and refused to remove them. Not really on the school but was still weird. Other than that the cleaning staff come multiple times throughout every week so the common areas and halls are always clean.

Overall it's a pretty good dorm. People can be pretty loud at times especially if you live near the stairs or door. The door alarm can be pretty annoying because it goes off pretty regularly when the door gets left open for too long. The heating is also pretty finicky. Once they switch the heat over they can't really switch it back quickly so in the period where the weather fluctuates between 50 degrees and high 70s during the day can get pretty hot. I definitely recommend keeping your window open when it gets hot in the room. The common areas are okay, but with covid-19 they're pretty inutile. It is a convenient dorm because its pretty close to the library, mail room, HCC, and Giant as well as the UMW parking deck. It also is great if you have lot of classes in the Jepson Science Center or want to use the Gym, pool, or dance studios.
