Juniper Hall Dorm Reviews at USF

At Juniper hall, we lived in pod style dorms, so we would share a common area with about 20 rooms or so. It was nice because you were able to hang out and do activities with your pod mates, however if they were loud at night, which in my case they were because we didn't have a good RA, it became hard to sleep at night. The dorm was quite far compared to other halls, but it was nice to have a dining hall on the first floor, which was probably the best dining hall on campus.

The experience has been great so far, my roommate and I live in the corner suite of the floor, meaning we have more space and a private bathroom. For us, this has been worth the extra money especially because sharing a bathroom among two people is easier than sharing it among four. Still, all of our friends on our floor are having a good experience so far with the actual building.

I was there as a part of the Honors College LLC (Living Learning Community), however you don't necessarily have to be a part of it to live there. In the end, it was actually pretty nice, very close to literally all of my biology classes (as a biology major), and close to the center of campus. The staff comes to clean your bathroom and sink every Thursday, and you also have a dining hall downstairs, so you don't have to walk anywhere in order to get food.

Juniper Hall felt very safe and was a great way to meet new friends and get connected. The dining hall being attached was a big bonus as well! Easy commute on foot to the rest of campus. The RA's were always available to assist or answer questions.

Juniper Hall is a very comfortable dorm building on campus. The best aspect of Juniper is that the food court is easily accessible; it is on the first floor to the right as soon as you exit the elevators.

There was a lot of organization when arriving to Juniper Hall to move in. There were plenty of staff to help with any questions. One great thing about Juniper Hall is that it is one of the few places on campus with an information desk. Mailboxes are right downstairs as well as printing services. Dumpsters are nearby. Lots of bike racks. Security is good. It's great to have a dining hall downstairs and a little market to purchase items.

It was my summer term at this dorm. I was in an FSSI program which placed me there. At that time it was newly built so the staff maintained it pretty well. There was dinning hall right at the first floor so access to University cafeteria was quiet easy. It also had a convenient shop there for day to day items which is helpful.

Overall a safe spot for students to stay. Building has required key swipe to get into elevators & doors. Safe Team also makes it easy to transport to & from different areas on campus. Location placement makes it a little hard to reach certain areas on campus, when walking at least. As far as the students, not all follow the required rules & guidelines. Normally pretty loud, common rooms are left messy & clustered. But, majority of them do their best to keep these areas neat for students. Bathrooms are cleaned regularly. The staff is very nice. Make sure to keep everything clean, fixed & efficient for the students. RA's do their best to mediate issues within the dorms.

We call it "JP." I loved my experience there. The common area is big for you to socialize, and a cleaning lady stops by at least once a week to tidy everything. Don't worry about noise; your RA will have you covered. Quiet hours start at 10 pm. It is located towards the back of campus, but these dorms are close to the library. These are one of the newer dorms so you will enjoy your stay!

My experience at Juniper overall was good, but much like you would expect a college dorm to be it was loud. However, I think we had the best RA's. It was also in a good location near the laundry room and dining commons

Everyone in Juniper Hall is friendly. The building is nice and the environment is welcoming. The RA occasionally visits and has conversations with new residents. Overall, I would recommend moving into Juniper Hall, its a great way to start your new year talking to new people.

Since Juniper were dorms for the freshmen that came in, I was a freshman when I lived there. This was a while back but I remember how I used to find trash in the elevator and the stairway. It always took a long time to get cleaned up. However, the staff was always very kind. The location was no so bad because it was right next to the parking lot, cafeteria, on the opposite side of the laundry, and a good distance from the crosswalk that led directly into the school. As for my room, the bed was very uncomfortable. I wish I didn't have to purchase a mattress pad for a bed that I was already paying to sleep in. The room was also very small. I lived in a triple, but despite that, I wish that room was a little bigger. I wish the people were not so loud, didn't smoke as much, and for the cars to stop playing music so late at night. Next, I will be speaking about the RA that I got. He was truly very kind and helpful. My dormmates always had arguments with each other, and so he used to come in and try to help us resolve the issue. As for the safety aspects, anyone could enter until a given hour. A person needed their key (ID card) to enter the building. However, that doesn't mean that someone couldn't enter directly after the person. In the mornings until dinner time, there wasn't anyone sitting at the front desk to check for ID. However, during dinner time an RA or someone would sit near the entrance to see who is entering. We could also have overnight guests but only if we sent in a notice with all the roommate's signatures on it. We were not allowed to smoke everywhere on campus but people still did so. With that said I did not enjoy living in Juniper solely because of the people I had to live with but it was a good learning experience that I will never forget.

It was generally a pretty good experience. The dorms have big windows and each dorm is like an apartment. The lounge, more often than not, was in need of some help that it wouldn't get unless it became a major issue. but you get used to it. Having a lounge that commuting students can go into makes it a good place for events so you can go right from your room, downstairs, partake in the event, and go right back up. The walls are thin so that's a thing to be aware of but the then that, the only other noise is whatever going on outside.

The building has a modern style and is very quiet. All PAs are friendly and welcoming. The building is constantly cleaned and is not far from the cafeteria. We always have wifi and Air Conditioning. We also have a mini-fridge and microwave. The bed could be a bit more comfortable but overall The dorms are well kept. Most dorms also have many outlets and brand new furniture. What I most enjoy is how the PAs are handling COVID and the rules set in place to keep us safe.

Itβs pretty quiet and not near a lot of the other activities I do like how the dorm has its own cafeteria and laundry. There is also a place to get food later in the evenings. The floors are pretty quiet and the other students donβt really socialize too much.
