Gillson Residence Hall Dorm Reviews at USF

Overall, it was convenient location wise, great if you got along with your roommate because they are small spaces, they are shared bathrooms and single-gender floors, there was a bit of a mold situation that was difficult to get maintenance to come.

I loved the community I experienced in Gillson. The staff was always so approachable. I began work in the building my junior year as a community assistant because I always admired the kindness of the staff. The building itself was outdated, but the people there were what what made it special.

As a freshman I lived in Gillson. I believe that the university did its best to make sure that all students were safe and comfortable in the dorms. We were. Obviously the cons to living in the dorm are the other people living there and not the dorm itself. I appreciated all that the organizations and the university provided for us in the dorms, even though it sucked sharing a bathroom with 30 other girls.

Overall, it was a very interesting dorm experience. I got really close with the people on my floor and I've made some lifelong friends through Gilson. But I've had some minor inconveniences with cleanliness that didn't get resolved.

Each floor has different levels of noise levels, but they are amazing at keeping the bathrooms clean. The study rooms on each floor are small but not too many people use them. The RA’s are nice some are more strict then others but overall they are there if you need anything.
