Straz Hall Dorm Reviews at UT

I have only been in Straz for a month, however we had a water leak the week we all moved in and they had to remove our stove and put a hole in the wall to find the water leak. Eventually it was fixed but we couldn't use our stove for almost a week and it was sort of an inconvenience with all the maintenance people coming in and out during the move in process. I wish there was a food option in common area, other than that it's been good.

Straz Hall was a mediocre "apartment" style dorm. There were 4 roommates and each had their own individual room. The rooms weren't too small, but they weren't big enough. It was very simple and plain, with no natural light. The way the dorms were designed in the building created minimal natural lighting from windows, which was very disappointing. Other than that, it was all I could expect from a low budget dorm option.

Far away from many things on campus. I have to pay just a little less than the nicer dorms which are ten times nicer and in a convenient spot on campus. It is nice to have my own room, common area and kitchen.

When I first got to select my housing I was a little disappointed I ended up in Straz hall. Through my time and experience here I have grown to enjoy it here. Although it may not be the best on campus, it does have lots to offer such as individual rooms, a kitchen, and a common area.
