Johnson Obear Apartments Dorm Reviews at UTC

JO was an alright place to live. Could've been better, could've been worse. I wish an elevator was accessible to my room for connivence when loading groceries and such. The parking surrounding it was more expensive than others, so that meant extra walking/looking for parking. I missed having a dishwasher, and not having to walk so far to do my laundry (which is subjective to specifically which room you're assigned). The bathroom counter/sinks are separate from the toilet/shower, which I think helps when living with potentially 3 other girls. I enjoyed having a balcony, and being closer to campus than previous years. JO is one of the oldest dorms still being used, so don't expect anything fancy, but it's suitable for a college student.

My roommates and I moved here spring semester due to complications at our last dorm. Johnson Obear is quiet, clean, and very welcoming. I love the set up inside and outside of the dorm. My RA has different events for the residents in our building every month and it makes you feel very welcomed into the Johnson Obear Community.

Compared to other dorms at UTC, JO is a sweet deal. This year, dorm rooms weren't cleaned properly due to Covid-19-related issues, so that was a downside this year. I've had issues with the staff, who don't seem to care about students' experiences and only want the easy way out of conflicts and issues. Honestly I would prefer to live off campus, but it's easier to just reapply for housing.
