Alvarez Hall Dorm Reviews at UTSA

I would definitely say that this is the best dorm on campus, originally I was put in Chisolm and it was terrible. The whole dorm has mold everywhere. I had to talk to housing about moving because it wasn't safe for me since I suffer from asthma. But I am so thankful that I moved here because it is a nice dorm.

I was mostly nervouse moving into the housing site, however when in got there my expierence so far has been amazing. The staff is great, the key cards work excellent, and im always able to get to and from class there safely. 10/10 would recomend to a friend.

Alvarez Hall is a great, affordable place to stay for incoming freshman or even a second year student. With an RA on duty at all times, there is always time to receive assistance in any situation. With large study rooms, there is always time to study and mingle with like-minded peers. Roommates have separate rooms, allowing for privacy, and share a restroom. If your roommate is cleanly enough, there should be no problem. Alvarez Hall is one of the newer dorms on campus and is therefore highly maintained and cleanly at all times.

Alvarez Hall was exceptional. From transitioning out of the comfort of living with my parents to embracing a newfound sense of independence, UTSA, and its dedicated staff at Alvarez Hall, played a pivotal role in making this significant life shift remarkably smooth. Stepping into Alvarez Hall, I was greeted with an atmosphere that felt like an extension of home. The warm and supportive community within the dormitory made me feel instantly welcomed. It wasn't just a place to sleep; it became a hub of experiences, connections, and personal growth.

Easy and clean dorms the only issue is tough parking. The space is small. but you can make it your own. You share a bathroom with your roommate, but it isnt bad at all. I would recommend Alavarez for freshman who want to meet people.

Clean and safe place that is one of the closest dorm options for walking to class. I met one of my best friends staying here and always felt secure coming home late after working/class. The only issue I ever came across was parking. When I worked the evening shift I would usually have nowhere to park directly in front of Alvarez.

I had a good experience and recommend it to everyone. It is the nicest dorm in my opinion. I enjoyed the fact that you have your own room and space and the only thing you have to share is the restroom. The common areas are nice and the building is maintained nicely. It is also very safe and in a convenient place on campus.

I am an incoming freshman. I have visited Alvarez Hall and it was above and beyond my expectations. The dorm is spacious and has several amenities that I will be able to benefit from while attending UTSA.

I had an amazing two years living at Alvarez Hall. I wouldn't trade my experience there for anything. I met so many great people while living on campus, and I had close access to all the resources I needed.

My experience at Alvarez was great! It was a perfect place to live my first year in college and I would recommend any incoming freshman to live there too. I made a lot of great friends and memories that I will never forget.

I lived on the fourth floor my freshman year, which I think really helped with keeping the noise down. That being said, my RA didn't do a good job at actually holding certain residents accountable. During finals especially the noise levels were absolutely horrible. Other than that, having your own bedroom is really awesome, and I'd highly recommend it for freshman. I don't recommend it past freshman year though.

I loved Alvarez so much! It was not the traditional dorm where you have to share a room with someone else; You still get your own privacy. Alvarez also has different communities on each floor so you are with other people either doing the same major as your or in the same clubs.

It was alright. I shared a bathroom with another student, and had my own sink. There was a small community kitchen that I did not use, as I did not have space in my own dorm room to store ingredients worth cooking.
