Chaparral Village Dorm Reviews at UTSA

Very nice like an apartment but without a kitchen. Ethernet ports are a really nice addition in helping with stable internet connections. And the pool is very nice and easy to access for the last days of summer before classes begin.

Chaparral Village has a very homey feeling and allows me to get the feeling of the independent adult life. It feels like your living in an apartment and allows you to get the feeling out independence that you will get when you become an adult outside of college.

The two-bedroom at Chaparral Village was very spacious for two people. The furniture for the living room could have been more comfortable but it's whats provided. The walls are thin and I was able to hear my neighbor's conversations when he was on the phone which was not the best. The walk from the dorm to the main campus was 15 minutes compared to the rest of the dorms that are more close to the main campus. I had lived by myself for most of the spring 2023 semester and I felt safe in my dorm and a great plus of the location of Chaparral Village is that the dining hall was directly to the left of the front office.

Chaparral Village was very nice as a first dorm. It was the closes to the cafe and had a nice pool. The building I lived in need some maintence. By the end of the school year, the stairs to my dorm were rusted to the point it was falling apart. That was dangerous. My door lock also died on me while I was doing laundry, so I was locked out for almost two hours before maintence came. Everything else is cool though. There's also chap cat, Harry. Love him.

Student living allows me to meet new people which is something that I really enjoy. However, the dorm itself is nothing to brag about as it is relatively small and it is really never clean. The staff is good though which is something that really helps out.

Chapparal Village was my first step into the college experience. The community is very friendly and has a nice location to the dining hall and main campus. The dorms are nicely sized and there are kitchen facilities. Sometimes, when moving in there are some maintenance issues with the dorm but the staff are usually pretty timely about solving any problem you have. I would recommend chapparal to first time university students!

Chaparral Village was a great dorm to live in and I would recommend it to all incoming freshmen and even sophomore. It is located right next to the Roadrunner cafe which is where most students with meal plans will eat on campus. The dorms are more like apartment suites where you can have your own room, share a bathroom, a living room, and even a kitchen. There is no hallway like a typically dorm, rather you can walk directly inside your dorm without having to enter through a "main door". Laundry rooms are located near every building and everything is in walking distance for classes and the rec.

Chap is just like all other dorms. It is an okay place to live but does has some problems, like any other place. It's in a pretty good location on campus. Just a short walk away from campus and if you are into sports the fields are nearby.

Chap isn’t too bad but most showers i saw were rusty and gross, i got bugs in my form multiple times. The carpet in the room was pretty gross. Would’ve preferred laminate thought. Ac broke twice in my 2 years there

Chaparral Village is the closest to the roadrunner cafe than any other dorms in the school. The facilities are quite nice with free washer and dryer provided. The maintenance crew are as well fast, nice and extremely helpful with fixing up the place when requested.

I just did a summer experience in their newer dormitories but I really admired the cleanliness and privacy. My only plight would be the lack of locks for dorm mates, as well as the fact staff forgot to give me a key in the beginning nor offer toilet paper/shower curtains.

Chaparral Village is a great place to live for freshman especially if they are recent high school graduates. The dorms are apartment style with 2 or 4 bedrooms and 1 or 2 bathrooms. This is very convenient because you don't have to worry about the challenges of a community restroom. Their are many different buildings within the village so you feel like you're in a little college town. It's a great place to meet people since there is a pool, community kitchen, and basketball court. The only warning I have about Chaparral Village is you don't necessarily know how your roommate situation is going to be. You could 1, 3, or even up to 7 people living in the same dorm as you. I personally lived with 7 other girls where there were 4 bedrooms and bunkbeds in each room. It is definitely a very different way of living but allows you to meet new people and really immerse yourself in the college experience.

It has been relaxing and if you have any issues the staff are more that happy to help. Maintenance always checks on previous repairs made to make sure that it is working. Very peaceful and a lot of friendly people live here.

Chaparral is nice because it’s next to everything and you get your own room rather than a traditional dorm room which is really nice. Maintenance is really fast and super nice! The only thing is that it comes with twin XL beds.

I liked staying at Chaparral Village. It was comfortable. My RA was very nice and friendly. Funny, too. It was a great experience for my first year of college. My roommates and neighbors were some very respectful people.

I honestly loved living at Chap! It was a nice walk to campus and getting to walk by the athletes in the morning while you're barely waking up, your hair sticking up while they are running sprints. It was clean and one of the nicest dorms I have ever seen!
