The dorm was fair, and the people living there were fantastic. Further, the janitorial staff was diligent, effective, and nice, they deserve to be paid more. In spite of the effectiveness of the staff, the cleanliness and bathrooms somehow found a way to be poor. in a 24-hour span after they were clean, it would become so unimaginably dirty again. The common areas are great. The basement was my favorite because it was always quiet so you can get work done. but all the common areas were huge and perfect. RA's were pretty good. As for safety, I did feel safe on campus, but that is because I trust and respect my peers. That being said, there were recently reports of sexual assault on my campus. Further, there were (incorrect) reports of an active shooter around that dorm a while back. I was told to get back in my room and had no idea what was going on until I received a report 5 mins later saying there was an active shooter. it took another half hour for police to make certain that there was no active shooter. in those 35 minutes, I felt very unsafe, I believed many people had died. Luckily, there was no shooter, but people were still hurt, mentally. That night the dining hall was filled with the most people I have seen, and people were very shooken up about the whole event. People were crying and were literally shaking. People were stress eating to calm themselves down and other people were there for each other. Honestly, it isnt fair to knock villanova for a safety incident like this because I dont know what they could have done better. But for those 35 minutes, I felt afraid.
