Everything about this dorm is great except the actual rooms themselves. They are small and the floors are very nasty. There is grime all over the bottom that a swiffer doesnβt pick up, I actually have to get on my hands and knees and scrub the floors and thereβs a color difference when Iβm finished.

McMahon is a nice dorm too experience if you're looking to meet a lot of people your first year of college. there are 8 people confined to a cluster and 2 share 1 out of the 4 rooms in the cluster. The problem I have with McMahon is how old the building is and how small the living quarters are- it feels inhumane.

I enjoyed living in McMahon. It is the only dorm with a balcony and we get our bathrooms cleaned which is a huge plus. I also really like having a common space in the dorm. It is an older dorm but all in all the pros outweigh the cons.

I lived in McMahon for a year. I really enjoyed having a small store and study area in the basement. It made getting midnight snacks or toiletries so easy, and there was always a place nearby to study. Additionally, the dorm is located near the Quad and Red Square, which is nice for freshmen, since almost all of their classes are in these areas. The only downside is that it is one of the oldest dorms on campus, so sometimes it has a certain musty smell. But the rooms are organized in clusters, to promote socialization, and each cluster has a balcony.

Definitely an aged building but it's clean and there's a decent amount of storage in each room. I got really lucky and had a great cluster. The bathroom was my least favorite part--the shower head was super low, the shower was tiny, and there was only one toilet for eight girls. Also I was sad there were no community kitchens. But I thought the location was nice because it was close to the dining hall and most of my classes and I preferred the trees over the more urban west campus. McMahon isn't fancy but it's totally livable, it's affordable, and living in a cluster can be a good opportunity to make friends!

The quality of your experience heavily depends on your cluster mates since they'll be the ones you share the common space and bathroom with. The staff is also quick and reliable when it comes to fixing broken things, like the shower in the bathroom. Overall, it's what you would expect when you live in one of the cheapest dorms on campus.

Despite the fact that McMahon is one of the oldest dorms on campus, I had an amazing experience living in McMahon Hall. The cluster design for the dorms was awesome for establishing a community with the people I lived with and the people in my cluster became some of my closest friends during my first year. My roommate and I shared a very small room, but there were 2 large closets and big desks for both of us. Even though the room was smaller and less modern than the new dorms, we were able to make the room very comfortable and homey. Now, almost 2 years later, my roommate and I still look back fondly at our memories from living in McMahon and reminisce frequently. Don't let the dungeon-like facade intimidate you; the place grows on you.

My room had a water leak and I submitted a work form before winter quarter ended and it could not be fixed till the end of spring quarter, which I understand but I do not think it is fair for me to pay the same price as everyone else.
