Itβs very quiet in this building, but people are still friendly. Everyone props their doors open so that you can meet people as they walk by the room. Overall, the community is very inviting and although the city is a little bit of a walk, itβs totally worth it.

My experience at Slichter was a lot better than I originally thought it would be. It was my 10th choice at the beginning so going into this dorm I was not thrilled. However, as I moved in and settled all of my furniture and clothes in, it became a lot more like home. I thought I wanted a "party dorm", but I realized that I liked the more quiet dorms especially for studying. I also liked it being quiet since I am a light sleeper and I realized I would have not gotten the sleep necessary to do as well as I did in school that year. There were a couple problems with the heater and the noise coming from them at times, but the maintenance came the next day and fixed it. The bathrooms were better than I expected which was nice since I am a sanitary person. A lot of the people on my floor were very nice, but I wish the dorm was a little more social with each other. That would be one of my only disadvantages, at least in my personal experience. Not a lot of people hung out together on my floor which I would have liked to see more. Overall, I think that this dorm is extremely underrated since most people that I talked to at Madison never heard of it. It has a lot of good qualities such as cleanliness, quietness, and spaces to be by yourself and with friends.
