Western Heights Dorm Reviews at WMU

I love the Western Heights and would totally recommend it to others. The thing that I dislike the most is how loud it is. But that is not the building in general that is just the floor I am on. I know people on other floors that say their floor is quiet. My favorite thing about the Heights is how new and modern it is. The common area is a really cool place where a lot of people gather to hangout or watch a sports game and that has improved my experience a lot.

Living at Western Heights made my freshmen year an easy transition. I absolutely loved the sand volleyball courts outside of our windows and the full kitchen to use. I always felt safe, you can only swipe into your own pod and the laundry room was clean. Even though there is community bathrooms, there is two private bathrooms which were always open to use.

Living in Western Heights was an amazing experience and really made my transition to college easier. The pods have a full kitchen which is nice and the rooms are clean. My year in the dorms was majorly affected by covid however I feel that Western Heights was a nice place to start. My only complaint would be that sometimes you would see the maintenance staff just sitting around which is fine I understand that sometimes you need a break but if you're an older man hanging out in a pod where only young woman live, it could be a little weird.

Really nice place to live overall and easy access to campus. Centrally located. The bathrooms could be maintained better. Front desk staff is okay. The added COVID guidelines really suck and take away from a lot of freedom.

I was an RA for Western Heights for two years. The building has AC, but the ventilation makes it easy to hear your neighbors. Also its only hot in Kalamazoo for about 2 weeks. The AC is not a selling point. Location is nicer than valley dorms. It's not bad, I just enjoyed Valley III more.

It's really nice and fancy. The rooms are extremely clean and spacious. The walls are thick so that helps with noise, but it's really easy to hear neighbors through the vents, which are all connected. Bathrooms are cleaned every day, but when they're used they can be a bit messy.

In Western Heights it is super easy to make friends because there are awesome common areas and the pods you are placed in are super convenient. It is by far the best, most up to date, and cleanest dorm on campus. There is a cleaning staff who is constantly working hard. The kitchens each pod has is so helpful and handy. The only downside of living in the Heights is how far of a walk it is to the good dining center!

The western height dorms at WMU are very quiet because you are in a pod with only about 20 rooms. The dorms were very safe because you had to go through 2 locked doors using your student ID. Only the people living in the pod was able to get in.

If I'm being completely honest, I love my own room. The walls are extremely thick, but it's quite easy to hear everything that goes on through the vents. The building itself and the location is awesome, especially in warmer seasons when you can be outside playing frisbee or beach volleyball right outside the dorms. Other than the noise, I love it here.

It has been fine in the short 4 weeks I have lived here. I am sure it will get better then longer I am here. It is a little difficult meeting others when we are in a pandemic. I am trying my best to get out
