KHVR is the furthest distance from everything except your car. Depending on your situation in the winter this could be great or terrible. It is often very quiet if you need to hit the books but will not be the most social dorm. I had a good experience, but ended up moving to a SE my sophomore year. more

Noordewier-VanderWerp Hall

I am a sophomore at Calvin but this was my first year staying Noordewier- VanderWerp Hall and I would definitely recommend this hall to upcoming students. They have policies set in place where past certain hours the halls must be quiet which was nice for me because it allowed me to study and go to bed at reasonable times. With COVID-19 I think some things could have been different, for example, I felt confined to my room almost all the time. I realize that this is for the best in order to not spread germs but I also found it hard to focus on my learning because I was in the same place all the time. I like to change my surroundings it helps me mentally. Other than that I have no problems staying in Noordewier- VanderWerp because they really do a great job at including everyone in all the activities they do. more

I enjoyed BV while I lived there for my freshman and sophomore years at Calvin. The community was great and it felt like my floor mates really cared about me and the staff facilitated these relationships. Unfortunately, the common areas are the most outdated on campus which made hanging out in these areas a bit more difficult. more

Bennik Hall

3rd floor Bennink has been awesome, the people are here are so nice and make it a great environment both to hang out in and to study in. We have one of the older basements out of all the dorms so it could use some renovations but otherwise its a very nice dorm. more

Boer-Bennink Hall

My experience in Boer Hall has been quite good. There is a very solid community of people here that I can depend on. The dorm itself seems fairly old, does not have air conditioning, but I will often keep the window open to keep it cool inside. more
