Johnson-MacFarlane hall Dorm Reviews at DU

The people are really nice. The is old but doesn’t look like it. The bathrooms are cleaned daily with is great. The rooms are pretty big and we have big windows with nice view. it not too far from everything with us great.

I really like the community aspect of J-Mac. Everyone is friendly with one another and willing to talk to each other about anything. On the other hand, the hall itself is often dirty, usually the hallway floors and the showers.

I really have been enjoying my time in Johnsons Macfarlane hall. The atmosphere is very homey and third floor is very open. I have some rather noisy neighbors and the hall tends to be populated with a lot of skate boarders which is accompanied by frequent noise. The bathrooms are adequate. The showers are small and cold water has become a new norm. It warms up but only after a good five minutes and sometimes after a couple minutes of warmth you'll get blasted with cold water.

Really fun dorm overall. It can get quite loud and it is old so the bathrooms are small and not as nice. It had a really great community and everyone was so friendly. there was an open-door policy with the RAs and everyone got to know each other really well! If you don't mind the communal bathrooms I highly recommend this dorm.

Johnson-McFarlane is an older resident hall, but it is set up beautifully for building communities. While the common areas leave something to be desired, most students feel comfortable leaving their doors open when they are in their rooms, and conversations flow readily. I lived in the building as a resident, and as an RA, and I absolutely loved it.
