St. Ann's Hall Dorm Reviews at Duquesne

Being on the ground floor near the entrance was kind of annoying because of tours and people constantly coming and going but you do get used to it. The housekeeping was very tidy and nice, but I would say it's mostly the other residents that don't clean up after themselves in the bathrooms. Overall I enjoyed St. Ann's for its location and other residents.

Relatively large rooms, but room size varies depending on the floor. The cleaning staff is so nice and helpful. However, the showers are small and the areas surrounding the elevator often smell because the floor trash cans are located right next to them. Overall, I think St.Anns is a good place to be as a freshman because everyone there is a freshman, making it a good way to make friends.

The dorms are two people to a room. Only one bathroom was available for the whole floor and the showers grew mold quickly even with being cleaned almost daily. Laundry was free but it was in the basement and the dryers were constantly broken.

St. Ann was a great dorm building to be in because it seemed like everyone knew everyone. It was very safe and the bathrooms are super clean and nice. The only down side is the separation between boy and girl sides means you have to sign them in and you're only allowed to sign in one person per day for only two hours. That makes it hard to hangout with friends when it's too cold to be outside.

My experience here at St. Ann's Hall so far has been amazing. I am first time student here at Duquesne University and I am loving it so far. The students and staff are very respectful and helpful of all needs. The rooms, hall way, and bathroom are very clean and up to date.

Saint Ann's has a great staff and a great environment for making friends. It is also a good place to study as there are lots of quiet study spaces. There is even a work out room right in the building so you don't have to leave to work out.

The bathrooms get super gross on the weekends since they are only cleaned during the weekdays. The dorm is also divided into a girls wing and boys wing, so when the boys are over on the girls side they have to use the girls bathroom since they have no other option. This is very uncomfortable as a female being in a towel from the shower and having males in the bathroom.

This is my first experience with dorm living and so far so good. Things are different with all of the COVID 19 procedures and precautions. There have been more cleanings noted. The rooms are decent size, but the mattresses benefit from a foam pad to help with comfort.

Bathroom is only area where cleanliness is an issue and can't blame the staff. Some residents are just lazy and cannot follow rules. Same for the noise-slamming doors when asked by RA to not slam doors and running and screaming in halls late at night.
