- super loud at night (people running around the hallway even though being scolded by security guards and RA, blasting music until 4am) - extremely dirty (lots of trash on the ground - poor the nice janitor => don't even tell me "at least he has jobs to do") - very unsafe, living in the same hall but people hitting each other violently - vape is everywhere, cigarette is all over the place - the bathroom is super dirty, laundries all over, no cleaning, people leaving water on to waste it, didn't flush the toilet or clean it (honestly makes me nausated) - the shower area is super dirty with lots of hair, leftover underwear, stuck sewage - talked to the Housing director and no helped receive, everything still the same from Fall 2022 to Spring 2023 - worst experience ever more

I think I've been really lucky to live in West compared to other residence halls. It's suite-style living, so there is a lot of space, and it's really nice to have a common area in addition to my room. There are kitchens on the 2nd and 3rd floor with an stovetop oven and a microwave, and plenty of space. In addition to the lounge areas on all 3 floors, the 2nd and 3rd have study rooms, which really come in handy when you need to study late. Overall, I really enjoy living in West. more

Schick was typically quiet and unimposing. However, there were a few instances that the students on my floor were disruptive, and several times I had random people slam on my door and then run away. Generally, not the best experience in this particular dorm. However, the RA was friendly and helpful, and the room was spacious and secure. Additionally, the building itself is very safe and secure from nonresidents. more

Stanger Hall is the only dorm on campus that provides quads. I was lucky enough to get a quad so I had a 4 person dorm. Elmhurst University does a poor job of providing and selecting care givers for the population that needs such care. I would encounter issues within Stanger Hall from this population. For example, I was able to hear a student masturbate in the restroom multiple days a week. Elmhurst housing, and student affairs was notified but I never saw any changes. Stanger does not have many noise blockers across the whole floor except for the door to your room. Some other dorms have doors that lead to an extended hallway within the floor. Each Stanger floor is one open hallway. This makes it easy to hear drunk students returning from bars or parties at night. The Stanger hall RAs to my experience had a perfect balance of being strict, ensuring safety, and allowing students to have fun and not worry about someone watching them at all times. Stanger Hall has a large athlete population. Stanger hall is usually very quiet throughout the morning/afternoon. The doubles in stanger are very reasonable compared to other dorms at Elmhurst. Stanger Hall and Cureton Hall are the only dorms available to underclassman that provides AC. The AC is a must during the early fall semester! Stanger Hall is also a very short walk from the chapel, and University mall (quad) but has the farthest walk to the school gym, P.E/Exercise Science, and theater building. Stanger hall is slightly more expensive compared to the dorms that do not provide AC. Stanger Hall or Cureton Hall are the best options for freshman. If you are a sophomore I recommend Stanger. If you are a junior or senior I recommend West Hall if available, or an apartment/house. more

I loved being at Niebuhr because it's an all freshman dorm, so I was able to mingle with people who are starting new just like me. I also met amazing girl friends on my floor that I connected with because it's gendered floors. I felt safe on my floor more
