Little Building Dorm Reviews at Emerson

The Little Building is very conveniently located at Emerson, and it could be a lot worse for a freshman-year dorm hall. However, the layout of the rooms and room assignments is random and really unfair in terms of individual space assigned.

I think it's a really great idea to keep all of the first-year students in one building because it promotes community. The rooms are a little small, but it's quite modern, so it makes up for it. You'll have to get used to waiting for the elevator, though.

I enjoyed living in Little Building at Emerson College. I lived with two other girls in one room. It was a tight fit but as far as dorm rooms go it was a great room. The building is kept very clean at all times.

The main issues I experienced living in the Little Building involved the students and lack of action from Residential Assistants. Firstly, there were many, many nights my roommate and I were woken up by unruly students in the halls right before or during quiet hours. When we sent multiple emails to multiple RA's on our floor and even one to a RD, we only received one reply from an RA that wasn't on our specific hall, and nothing changed afterwards. Additionally, the maintenance staff did their best to keep the bathrooms and kitchens clean, but students never seemed to clean up after themselves and left the communal areas a disaster. I understand the RA's are students too who have lives of their own, but a little more action taken on their part to upkeep the rules of common courtesy in the dorms would have prevented these issues from escalating the way they did.

Living in the little building was great I personally lived alone but I thought the overall experience was great and I would definitely recommend it to others who want to have a college dorm room experience.

People say it's ironic that it's named Little Building because it's one of the largest buildings on campus, but it's actually not so ironic cause the rooms are tiny. Nice building and I didn't get a full experience because of covid but the rooms, are very small.

The building is reserved for all the first-year students. I have enjoyed my experience so far. I am attending as a first-year student during Covid, and all of the rules have been enforced so I feel safe.

I lived in the building before it got renovated, because of this upcoming renovation the school had decided that no more money should be put into the building before the renovation. This meant that the building was in a very bad condition and the school did not bother to fix anything about it. This is a typical occurrence at Emerson College whenever money is involved.

I was one of the first students to live in LB. I don't know why, but the bathrooms were horrendous. Part of it was because many students didn't seem to clean up after themselves, but I think that a lot of it had something to do with pipes and plumbing or something. I also really hated how much space is left at the bottom of stalls.

I was gut wrenchingly nervous about moving across the country to my freshman dorm even before the COVID pandemic. It felt like it was me against the world as I sat at home on my laptop googling "college housing applications" and "size of average dorm." My mind keep running in circles because I had no idea what I was doing. Thankfully the housing staff at Emerson College was supper supportive. They would answer any question day or night. Then before I knew it they had successfully matched my roommate and I with a traditional style double room in the Little Building. It included two raised beds, closets, dressers, and desks. The dorm is roughly 200 square feet which made it cozy yet functional. The best thing about the room however was the huge window looking out over the Boston Commons. In the end, I couldn't of asked for a better freshman dorm because not only what the facility outstanding but the staff was welcoming and truly cared about my well-being.

I got stuck in a smaller room with a boring view, but overall LB is one of the best dorm buildings that you could ask for on-campus of a college in the city. It's beautiful and has nice spaces throughout the building, there's a performance center as part of the building, it's pretty cool.

I really like living in Little Building. The dorms sit in one of the best locations in all of Boston and are recently renovated too. Classes, dining halls, parks, restaurants, shops--they're all right by.
