Pearce Hall Dorm Reviews at Eastern

I do not like my roommate currently and the rooms are quite small. I enjoy my view and how it is the highest area for a long ways so any where you want to go it will be downhill. over all I sort of enjoy this hall but I would choose another one in the future but currently this one is the cheapest so Im stuck with it

Being there for two full years allowed me to see all sorts of different aspects of Pearce. The RAs (Called CAs at Eastern) care so much about the safety of their residents and the professional staff can be your best friend if you talk to them, and they know all the secrets of the building. Being right next to the PUB (the main dining building) it was incredibly easy to go grab a snack when you wanted to and participate in the activities in the building. You absolutely get your steps in walking up the hill to the building or up the stairs, but it helps keep us active! The community that I found in Pearce made Eastern feel like home and help me keep from being as homesick I would have been without my CA and the friends I made on my floor! On the more constructive criticism side of the building it is quite loud sometimes, you will hear things through the doors, so bring earplugs if you need to. The kitchen on each floor is a two-burner cook top so you will be cozy if you are cooking with others, but the downstairs kitchen is big and will fit cooking big meals. Also, make sure you can walk down stairs if a fire alarm goes off from cooking.

Pearce was a decent place to live. Only reason I moved out of the dorms once I could was because they are way overpriced. Bathrooms were sometimes closed because people drank too much and vomited in the bathrooms. No sink in the room so you always had to use the community bathrooms.

Pearce Hall is a great place to go for your freshman year, but I recommend being ready for the fire alarm to go off. The fire alarms are extremely sensitive. The staff is great and the CA's are generally available whenever you need them. Pearce is also in a very convenient spot on campus and right next to the Pub (stores and food).

I was there for one quarter this year and I honestly really liked it. It is a nice, humble room, just what you need as a freshman in college. It is also right next door to the PUB, so that was very convenient lol.

It has been ok. Due to Covid, I have my room to myself which is nice but the bathrooms are old and have issues sometimes and it doesn’t always get fixed. It is quite close to the student parking lot, and easily accessible to the Pence Union Building and other buildings on campus. Overall hasn’t been a horrible experience

To be honest, I'm glad I had the opportunity to go off-campus because Pearce was not a good fit for me. I did not like sharing a bathroom, and it was pretty loud. However, the staff were nice, I will admit that. I even threw a small gathering myself for Halloween. It was sometimes fun.

Pearce hall is located right next to the pence union building or the pub which allows for quick access to food. It is also right next to the gym and is a very short distance from the library and the science building. The students and staff here are very welcoming and depending on what floor you're on you can get very quiet neighbors or very loud neighbors. One thing I do not like is that quiet hours start at 12 am but the students really do not care. The rooms are very good for one person to live in, there is two areas to work and there are two beds which you can put together to make one big bed. The lounge area has a whole kitchen and pool tables as well as two flat screens and a ping pong table, it is very fun to hangout with your friends there. All the floors are co-ed except for the 9th floor which is all boys and 10th floor which is all girls. I live on the 10th floor which is always really quiet but all the other floors are quite loud and fun. Overall I really like Pearce hall for my first year in college.

Up to this point, Pearce Hall has been a very welcoming and homey environment, and I can honestly see no other place for me to live for the entirety of my college attendance. The placement, the people, the room size, it is all top quality and I have had a great experience.

It is not the same as shown in the pictures found online. The rooms are a lot smaller and the building is not as clean as shown. Not much is done to keep Pearce clean and quiet. Other than that Pearce is just an old building that could use some new remodeling.

Pearce Hall, in my opinion, is the go to dormitory when it comes to an area where you don't feel overwhelmed during the first year of college. The people are incredibly nice, everything is kept nice and clean, and I always enjoy being here.

The people that live next to me are absolutely terrible. I get back from work every day and I’m kept up until 3am because they think it’s ok to hangout and scream that late. They really think it’s ok during a pandemic to have 4-5 people in a tiny dorm room to begin with? I hate showering here because it’s next to these people that make me lose sleep. They also seem to rip huge chucks of hair out of their heads, and throw it in the drain. There’s no way that much hair can build up over a day, is there? My friends don’t have this experience on their floors at all so I seem to be fairly unlucky with where I got placed.

My experience at Pearce Hall, as of now, is absolutely satisfactory. There have been little to no issues with the area whatsoever, and I am glad to be attending in this hall for my first year at Eastern Washington University.

I lived in Pearce Hall in my first year at Eastern. I was moving to Cheney from a small town in Oregon and knew absolutely no one. My CA was amazing. She encouraged all of the students on our floor to stick together and welcomed us to go to campus events with her. I roomed with a foreign exchange student from China for the first quarter. It was so cool learning about their culture and helping her learn English. We are still in contact today. My next roommate became my best friend and we continued to be roommates after leaving the dorms. Pearce made moving to a new state and town such a smooth transition and connected me with some of my closest friends.

I am in Pearce hall for my second year now, and still loving it, even with Covid restrictions. The staff is friendly, the views are amazing, and there is plenty of storage in the rooms for everything I need to store. Overall, it's a great dorm experience.
