Magnolia Hall Dorm Reviews at FSU

Magnolia hall is in pristine condition. It was newly updated in 2017, so the facilities are new and nice. Staff on site always made it Clean and of course the student living there did their part as well cleaning up after yourself. It is safe, and quiet! The staff is great!

Magnolia hall was the perfect form for a great freshman year. It’s close to everything on campus and just a quick walk from landis to hangout with friends. It’s also the ideal location to eat as it’s right next to 1851 and Chick-fil-A.

Larger dorm rooms than others I've seen. Close to Landis Green and Suwannee. Close to most class buildings. Met some nice people in the common areas. The staff was always friendly. Never had any issues with maintenance.

My experience at Magnolia Hall at FSU has been amazing so far. The dorm has provided the much needed space I need and I am happy to stay in this hall. Overall, I would recommend FSU to my friends and anyone who is thinking of applying.

Magnolia Hall is a great experience. The maintenance is excellent, and the staff is great! They are extremely helpful, all we have to do is ask. My roommates have became my friends. Overall, I would definitely recommend to a friend!

It was great. The building and staff were very nice and accommodating. I will say make sure you room with someone you know because it will make for a better experience overall because my roommate was a nightmare.

Definitely one of the better dorms here at FSU. It is newer so it is much cleaner. The location is awesome as it is in the middle of everything. The only downside was living in a dorm during the pandemic which prevented any fun or large activities.

While there have been a few disruptive instances, mostly from other residents in the hall, over the experience has been great. Staff is kind and does a wonderful job and RAs are understanding and helpful.

It's a very new building which is nice because it's still very clean. The rooms are decently large and in a perfect rectangle shape, so each roommate has a clear side. The only problem I've had is that mold grows on the vent in the bathroom because there is no ventilation.

I loved it! Everyone was very nice, and they made sure that no one felt unsafe due to COVID-19. Even though the rules were stricter, it was all in the intention of safety, and everyone was still able to meet new people and have fun. The halls were usually very clean and organized.

Noise is okay. You can hear most doors around your dorm when they open, they are pretty loud. Also if people are walking by your dorm while talking you may be able to hear them. Cleanliness is meh. It's usually on the weekends when it gets bad. The cleaning staff don't work on the weekends, so the trash in the trash chutes may start to build up. You'll also occasionally pass by food or throw up on the floor or stairs (this is rare). The common areas are really nice, they are currently socially distancing in them but they're nice to get work done in or do class. The small ones on each hall have a whiteboard. The bathrooms are really nice. You share your bathroom with your roommate and suite mates (4 people including yourself). It's very nice, but I wish it was a tad bigger. It's difficult to shave your legs in the shower. The location is pretty close to perfect. It's right by Landis Green which is a great space to hammock, play outdoor games, picnic, or get work done. Magnolia is also very close to the library, dining hall, mail room and a parking garage. It is a little bit of a walk to the gym and football field, but it's closer than others. Safety is meh. I say this only because it's pretty easy for anyone to get in to the building. If someone is coming out or going in to the building and has an FSU card, a stranger could easily get in. This goes for any dorm on campus though. Maintenance is great. I never had an issue with them. The cleaning staff is also very good and cleans every week day. The staff are also meh. I only say this because my friends and I were up at 4:30am due to a fire alarm that went off at 4am, and night staff came knocking on my door telling me to be quiet. We were all just talking and I reassured the night staff the only reason we were up was because a fire alarm went off 30 minutes prior. They had no idea that there was a fire alarm and made my friends leave. Other than that I don't have an issue. I was blessed with chill RAs.

My experience at Magnolia hall was amazing. The Dorm is so clean, and the staff is so nice. I stayed during my freshman summer, and I had a blast. Everyone on my floor was so nice. The location right in the middle of campus, so you're close to all of the events happening.

Magnolia Hall is probably the best dorm to live in as a freshman because you are directly across from a two food halls and parallel to the Tallahassee police station. Not to mention residents are in the middle of greek life houses while still having access to the basic necessesities such as CVS and the US postal service. The dorm rooms are likely to be the largest out of all of the dorms seeing as it is newly renovated.

I love living at Magnolia Hall, it has been a very good experience for the past four months I have been living there. The hall is in great condition and the rooms are extremely clean. The staff working there are amazing and extremely helpful. The only complaint I would have is with the amount of spaces closed because of COVID, when I feel like with restrictions they could be open.

The dorm is very clean, and the RAs are involved as well.. Doing weekly activities to keep everyone attentive and involved during the COVID 19 pandemic. The bathrooms work well as well as the other utilities

It was fun and collective. Felt safe at all times in and near the hall. Great common area to get to know your neighbors. RA's were fantastic and helpful. Loved every part of the dorm. I wish the AC vents were single unit though.
