Piedmont North Dorm Reviews at Georgia State

I live in Piedmont North and it is very welcoming and they do lots of on campus activities for example friendship bracelet events and they even had a spooky trick or treating event in the lobby for residents. Over all the dining hall staff is very welcoming and so are the Residential Assistants.

My experience at Piedmont North has been a crazy one and I’m not even done with the fall semester. It all started when my roommate and I picked out our room the start of the school year. However, when we arrived to our room on the 2nd floor we found out that our tub had some leaky issues that would take longer than expected. As a result, they relocated us to the 4th floor to move into which is a much smaller room meant for one person and not two. Additionally, we were never given the option to get our old room back. And while still currently living on the 4th floor of this housing unit there has been two other unfortunate incidents. First, there was cockroach in our room which thankfully my roommate got rid of it, but that was after calling the front desk to see if they had any bug spray in hopes to kill it easier and instead got told an unhelpful response. The next issue occurred at the end of September where we found human feces outside of our door, and this was after my roommate and I heard commotion at 1am. I texted our RA in hopes that something can be done and she said she would contact her supervisors, but got no follow up response. So since my roommate killed the cockroach I took one for the team and cleaned the area outside because it was starting to make our room smell very unpleasant. I’m sorry for dumping all of this in a response, but I’m simply reporting and can back up with evidence this happened if needed. Besides the bad that happened in the dorm, something good did happen recently where we did just get a new faucet and pipes for the sink because the old one kept leaking huge puddles. Overall, as a freshman I can say that my experience has been a shocking one where one day I know I’ll find the funny side of my current dorm life at Piedmont North.

My experience at Piedmont north has been alright. I feel like maintenance could be better but the environment. Its a good place too make friends and find new people especially being your first year here.

Don't recommended if you dont like sharing a room with others, People tend to be very dirt and its small and compact. The elevator is always broken on the B building of piedmont north. Fire drills happen because people there smoke alot and can happen at 4 am in the morning. The dining hall is definitely better than central. Overall as a freshman its an experience i will say that.

Piedmont North is a great place for freshman students to experience their first year living on campus. I was able to gain friends and connections very easily. They provide many open areas for people to engage and connect with each other. This is where I was able to meet some of my closet friends. The downside about the dorms is the location since it is located the furthest from campus. I personally did not mind the walk to and from classes though because I was able to get a good amount of exercise. Another downside is the bathrooms inside the dorms. They aren’t the most pleasing but they get the job done.

The building is very odd and ran by students, so you make due. Maintenance doesn’t exist but not much happens here. It is nosy but that is because it is in downtown atlanta. I had a great roommate so that made my experience bearable.

My experience at Piedmont North was amazing. I met wonderful friends and the staff was amazing and very helpful. The dorms were up to part and well maintenance. Quiet hours were well respected and overall I would definitely recommend this dorm to anyone!

I have been a resident and an RA at North. I absolutely love the residents and the staff at north. We have fun game nights and other events put on by the staff. It is very convient to the GSU bus stop and has a dining hall inside of the building.

I have been a resident and an RA at North. I absolutely love living here. The other residents and RAs are so much fun! We have game nights and many other functions. We also have a dining hall in our residence hall. Talk about convience!

Overall my staying at Piedmont North wasn't bad as I thought it was clearly it was downtown and downtown be normally chaos. The security was good and they never let nobody in the building unless they're residents there. If you want to meet more people and have your own space/room. I would recommend Piedmont Central but if you want quietness ill say North

My experience was good. It is in Downtown ATL, and it is close to campus. However it is the farthest dorm away from campus, but it is about a 10-15 minute walk. I did enjoy North, it is mainly for freshman, so you won't get all the amentities compared to upper-classmen, but for a typical freshman dorm it is better than I expected.

Building B was lovely, Building A is also nice, but it's muggy in the corridors and when it rains these huge puddle form right outside your door. Also, our light bulbs would blow out all the time, but maitnence was pretty quick with fixes.

Piedmont North is a good hall to stay in. It is the cheapest option but the environment is really nice, even though there are some car crashes and shootings near by. It doesn’t happen often. The staff is really nice and it is kept clean!

Piedmont north was not AS BAD as people say. I was fine... I would just try living somewhere else first. This is definitely last option kind of dorm. They have the best dining hall. It always had the best food!

In Fall 2019-Spring 2020 I lived in the dorms with two other people. It was 3 people in one room and we had a personal bathroom. As the dorm was a renovated hotel it was convenient to have a personal bathroom. At multiple points our wireless door lock [that is supplied by the school] died and we were locked out for a few hours. We had leaking in the bathroom and had to have our A/C unit replaced because one of the residents was developing a cold from it.

I lived in the portion that was the motel so you step out your door and you are outside. This is the cheapest housing option aimed at the freshmen. I did dislike having to share a room with two other people which is cramp. there is a large grass area. It is a little dangerous crossing the street but they have two very nice officers that are posted there so we can cross safely

The building is split into 2. Piedmont North A is a motel-style building and Piedmont B is a hotel-style building. I lived in A and truly it. There are many free student-targeted events. Maintenance requests were answered within two days. If there is an issue/emergency, calling the front desk resolved it immediately.

If I had to sum up this place, I'd call it the perfect in-between for people who've only lived at home and want to get acclimated to living on campus. Piedmont North used to be a hotel, and that's still evident, but it's not a bad thing. It's right outside the interstate and serves as the outskirts of GSU's campus, so there's a little more walking involved but not too bad. This place has this comfy home-vibe to it that's perfect for people wanting to get used to living in the city. While it wasn't my first choice, I can say so far I'm satisfied with Piedmont North. It's quieter than the other places and pretty comfortable.

It’s a nice, quiet place to stay. The dining hall staff are super nice, and floor RA’s are all very nice and helpful. There haven’t been any big problems with my room. The only problem was my sink getting clogged.
