Dakin is fun to live in because all the first years get to bond over a shared location. It is amazing that each student living in Dakin can have a single room. The hallways are clean and privacy is not hard to find; the walls are thick. The common rooms, especially the floors with balconies, are great places to work alone, or to host a group of friends for studying, movie watching, etc. The noise is great because it's far enough away from a quiet road; all you really hear is the lawnmowers occasionally, and the bus stopping several times a day- depending on which side you live. The Dakin quad is beautifully enveloped in trees and is a great place to eat lunch or study on a nice day. It is right next to the dining commons, so getting a meal is a short walk away. I can't speak too much to Dakin's accessibility, but I have had friends in chairs do okay living on the first floor.
