Oak-Elm is a pretty good dorm for your first and second year at Iowa State. Most students living here and underclassmen so everyone is pretty much in the same boat. The staff can also be very helpful.

My biggest flaw with Oak-Elm is that there was no air conditioning. I was always hot, and the building also had a bug problem. The rooms were also smaller, but there were multiple closets in every room.
