Garcia Hall Dorm Reviews at NMSU

It has been an interesting experience. The dorms are usually really quiet and calm during in school days but at weekends sometimes they tend to be really loud as the students run through the halls and scream at the top of their lungs. The patios are clean and nice, nothing special, as well as the common areas. The location is a bit far from the buildings and can be tedious and tiring, it is almost at the limits of the campus and walking all the way up counts as exercise. Overall is fine, there could be things to improve or that I would like to change but it is a nice accessible place.

I really enjoyed my first college year at Garcia, studying or sleeping in your dorm room was always quiet. The location was right next to Corbett and close to where all the classes were being taken so you didnt need to drive or worry about being late to class. The only downside to Garcia were the common areas as there was really nothing to do other than use the pool tables in the lobby but other than that Garcia is a great place for students to begin their college experience and I defintely reccomend it.

The rooms have limited space for two people to share. The walls are quite thin, so when the a/c is off, you can hear the people next door. When doing laundry, it's best if you keep a timer because other residents will empty the machines in order to use them, especially if they waited a long time.

It was very interesting for a first time dorm experience, they put sports people on the second floor and they were constantly running around. It was nice being able to meet a lot of people easily because of the open patio but I had to move rooms going into the second semester because of the amount of cockroaches in my old room. My RA in C Patio was amazing and checked in with me a lot which was very nice.

I've thoroughly enjoyed my stay in this residence hall. It accommodates my need to stay there during the summer, accompanied by my summer courses. It is a beautiful place close to the food center, and it is pretty perfect for my situation.

The rooms are a bit small, and you can hear everyone walking outside and above you, but other than that Garica hall is nice and I love how friendly everyone here is! I live on the second floor which is the best, because I can sit on the ledge outside and enjoy the fresh air and sit to talk with friends

It’s one of the cheapest dorms in the university and it is located right in front of Corbett Center. The rooms are very small and since many students live here it’s not usually quiet until 10 pm when the quiet hours start. Overall it’s good for freshman year but wouldn’t recommend it afterwards

García Hall was a very decent dorm room! I loved how close it was to campus and how friendly the staff was! The RAs were very helpful. I lived in the bottom and sometimes it would get noisy but it wasn’t too bad. Also they always had some fun activities in the courtyard!

My experience at Garcia hall was great It was a small enclosed area but I would be around friends nd spend time in the lounge area for most of my time. I have had great memories there and I enjoyed my time there.

I had a lot of Crickets and cockroaches living on the first floor, you couldn't have your window open as people could just look directly into your room so it was uncomfortable. The maintenance people were nice, I had to see them a lot since I came into a room with a dented door, broken bed, broken sink, and pests. There was constantly people yelling and the walls were paper thin.

García was the party block the year I was there. I lived in A and D. D was loud sometimes but always fun. Everyone in A was chill and we all hand a good time. García got nasty quick though. Trash, food and cockroaches everywhere.
