University College at Prairie View Dorm Reviews at PVAMU

It’s one of the best freshman dorms as a first time college student. You have a roommate and you share a bathroom only with your roommate. You’re even able to pick who you want as a roommate. It’s very convenient.

The experience is nice but the only thing I don't agree with are visitation rules. Why make us pay $3,000 for a dorm that no one can come in? We shouldn't have to sneak nobody in the comfort of our own room. Plus, we're grown. Why are we constantly being babied?

Thus far my experience has been quit pleasant. The dorm staff is very responsive as well as provide a quick turn around time for any request or concerns. The first week they greeted the freshman’s with welcoming bags and information to help navigate through the campus.

My experience at University College is very nice. I get along with everyone in my building and its very nice and clean. Honestly i feel like its enough space for you and your roommate. I love my CA's they are very nice.

I love the campus and how close our dorms are to certain buildings where our classes are located. The staff is fantastic, and they are there to help you with everything you need. We have had an amazing time together as "building sisters".

My experience has gone well so far. Just moving in this past weekend. Issue was address on move in with closet. It could be a bigger space but overall I am ok. The dorm is nice and feels safe. I don’t have any concerns at this time.

It was cool for my first year at college didn't really have problems, the only problems I had was maybe other residents in the building but my stay was wonderful. The staff was amazing if I needed anything they would help and maintenance people was always quick if there was a problem needed to be fixed.

The place is a home away from home especially after I decorated my room. I love that we have access to a gym and a movie theater. I’m also glad that everyone that lives there is so super friendly. Everything is pretty clean too. We also get are own bathrooms and don’t have to share with like a million people. 9/10

At "UC" which is the housing i am in its not 100% quiet but its also not the loudest . Its an amazing place to meet people and make friends because of how its set up . "UC" is really in the middle of Pv so therefore it wont be hard to be able to get places ! The dorm is a better size than most dorms and you have a bathroom for only you and your roomate !

My experience living in the dorm was not so pleasent... it was extremely expensive for the small space I lived in ...my wifi was not working a lot of times and one time I was displaced due to flooding in the dorm ..my roommate didn't help me clean ...I hated sharing a bathroom .never again

The overall experience was okay. The beds were comfortable and the location is very convenient. The main issues were the lack of warm water and poor internet connection. Students were unable to attend classes & complete assignments due to no wifi connection. Other than those 2 issues, everything was good.

Living at the university college dorms was not a great first experience. They are dorms for first year students and I do not recommend. The RA’s treat the students like they are still in high school with little to no respect. The utilities are hardly ever working or are always in need of replacement. The repairmen do not come upon request or it takes a couple of requests to get them to come. To be quite frank, I wish I never lived there. This experience was a 1/10 experience.

My experience at university college was quite good. It was my freshman year when I had arrived and I loved everything about it until we had a situation where my room had flooded because the third floors water pipe broke. Maintenance has us sit for 2 weeks with big loud fans . But rather than that it was an Amazing experience. I’d say change mattresses in rooms as well.

I love that I chose to stay at university college, all of the staff theres makes us feel welcomed and make sure to make it feel like a home away from home. I would recommend to all incoming freshmen to choose university college.

My experience at prairie view been very good even with the whole pandemic going on the school continues to make something out of it, I'm very glad I chose this school I love the school, dorms, and the education I am receiving at the school.

Honestly it was pretty chill, this was my first year in college and i met some people in my dorm who are pretty much brothers. We all look after each other, if you need something and one of us have it then it's yours.

As a freshman in College I expected the school to provide us with a better experience. Yes the location is very convenient but the parking was very dissatisfying. If the school expected and admitted more students to attend than the resources should have been provided. The security of the freshman buildings were to a bare minimum and posed as a threat to the student's safety. Not only the students were employees but security should be present in the buildings or on patrol at all times. Room checks were to a bare minimum as well and the students could literally hide or bring in illegal items. The freshman students on campus are still considered teenagers and need guidance that's not provided from the school. Please try to develop relationships with these students to get a better understanding because this is the first living place outside of their parents/guardians home. The students know the rules but the employees should enforce them through support and understanding conversations.

Living at University College (The UC) is a rite of passage for all incoming Prairie View A&M University students. I met some of my best friends and created memories that I will cherish forever. The housing model is great! Two walls and a bathroom separate the room, and B-side has a window. The UC offers very spacious housing for the price, and there are also tv rooms on the first and second floors with free cable, and there is a study room on the third floor.

great place to live and my roommates and I have become close friends. There are only three of us and we get along just fine. Hopefully we can all still be roommates for our senior year! That would be awesome

With me being a first time college student I was very next about all the different type of safety questions I had but Overall I had a wonderful experience at University College at Prairie View A&M University.
