Capstone Hall Dorm Reviews at South Carolina

Capstone Hall provided exceptional safety, 24/7 access to study rooms, above-average maintenance, and a welcoming coed environment for socializing. While I mostly enjoyed the staff, the hall's location posed a challenge. Without a car, the walk to campus was quite far. Depending on the bus wasn't always reliable, often necessitating an hour's early departure for class. Despite these inconveniences, I left Capstone Hall for a more affordable option.

My neighbors are loud in the middle of the day, and there are only three elevators for an eighteen-floor hall. There is a cafeteria on the bottom floor included in the meal plan. If you select gender-neutral housing, you do not have suitemates. The beds do not loft. The closets are really spacious but it gets cold at night. The windows do not open.

It was very convenient having dining options in the building when it was raining. Was a very tight community where you knew many people. There are classrooms in the lobby and if you were lucky you would have a class in one of those!

The staff at Capstone Hall were great, especially the staff in Gibbes Court Bistro(the dining hall in Capstone). The experience was well overall, the only issue is that the building is very old so there were multiple maintenance problems including the elevators and dorm bathrooms.

My experience living in Capstone was the absolute best! I met some of my best friends from it! We all had so much fun and the staff and cleanliness of Capstone is what stood out to me. The staff was always so eager to help my roommate and I with anything we needed, as well as the janitorial staff. Having Gibbes Bistro right downstairs made it super convenient when I was studying for an exam late at night and needed to grab a quick bite to eat! Thank you Capstone Hall for the best freshman year college memories!

Overall, I had a very nice experience with the Capstone Dorm. My area was spacious and easy to clean, and the common are was nice. It could get a little bit noisy at times, but nothing that would be too distracting.

Overall I enjoyed my experience at Capstone but there were definitely things that were not so great. The location was right on the edge of campus which meant that you ended up being in the middle of everyone else, not college students. It was a 10-minute walk to the student union and most class buildings. My floor in particular was not a very social floor, however, I know many others (especially higher floors) were. I absolutely loved my roommate and she was probably the best part of my dorm experience. My RM was super sweet and there's almost always things going on in the dorm or on the lawn. Capstone is great because it's suite-style so you have your own bathroom, but the bathrooms that are downstairs for everyone are still nice. Overall, Capstone is a great place to be and I was very happy with my first semester there.

I had a great experience at Capstone Hall. The Resident Mentor's were amazing in making my transition to college much easier. I loved the suite-style of the dorms, and the common areas were a great addition.

It's pretty okay. The elevators break very frequently and it's difficult to be able to get on one. I feel like the general atmosphere is decent and everyone is very sociable with one another. The people are easy to talk to and get along with. I have no complaints about them. I do wish that again the elevators would work and were quicker but it is an older building.
