Bearkat Village Dorm Reviews at Sam Houston State University

It was a great dorm especially for a new student to Sam. i loved the community and all of the Activities they had for us to do. It was nice and roomy. I would totally recommend it especially to new students

I loved the privacy and I was very comfortable. I liked the fact that i am able to cook my own food and have a whole room to myself. They pick your roommate or you get matched which both are okay and overall its very affordable.

It wasn't bad, for a freshman in college I enjoyed the dorm experience as much as I could. However, it was other dorm members that would be screaming in the middle of the night at around 2 am that got to me from time to time. And how the elevators would be broken from time to time and the laundry room was ALWAYS chaos and that half of the washing and drying machines wouldn't even work the majority of the time. If your lucky and you get a chill roommate then it's not so bad, if not I would make friends with people in other dorms and try to spend as much time there as possible.

I love BKV! It's a wonderful location, right off campus, but still far enough to be its own place. It's also very spaceous and has a great kitchen. The rooms are a nice size too, so that's fun. Overall, 5/5.

Bearkat village is fine. Its old and needs updates. I like having a full kitchen but its not very quiet. The location is the biggest pro. I did not renew my lease, will be living in off campus student housing next semester.

I was happy with my stay at BKV & plan to stay there in the upcoming Fall! I like having my own space & not having to worry about privacy too much. The only thing you have to share at BKV is the restroom & that’s not a big deal for me.

Loved how close I was to campus while having my own room and getting that apartment feels. The room was a great size and the closets were so big! The only con I have are the couches and chairs were old so they weren't comfortable. Besides that I love Bearkat Village! The staff is super nice and everyone is respectful there compare to off campus complex.

Although Bearkat Village is at the top of a hill one is able to be immersed in apartment style living situation. Privacy is available you only have one other roomate and the R.A.s were always there whenever I needed help.
