Schwartz Hall Dorm Reviews at SCSU

Dorming at Schwartz Hall was a decent experience. One of the pros is that the dorm is very close to the Student Center, Library, and classroom buildings. Another pro is that each room has a full kitchen. One of the cons is the bedroom setup. There are four beds in one room, so if you are rooming with strangers you may feel uncomfortable at times.

I was a resident advisor and i truly enjoyed being there. Each RA made an effort to make all residents feel their input was valuable. All students felt a responsiblity in keeping the dorms safe and clean.

I've had a rusted hole in my tub since I moved in, but it apparently wasn't a priority to fix over the winter break, so I have to live without a safe shower in my room. The heating is also always unbearably hot so I have to sleep on the floor.

Overall pretty quiet, the staff is very nice and answer any question i have. Love how close it is to chancellors walk and the food court. Bathrooms are a lot better than expected and are constantly cleaned.

My room was awful from the moment I moved in. My furniture is falling apart, my walls peeling, there was a leaking hole in my ceiling, the fume hood to my kitchen doesn't work, and there's a huge rusted hole in my bathtub. When I moved in I was assured there were work orders in to fix it all, but nothing has been done still, a month and a half into the semester. Also, one day there was literal poop in my bathtub that came up from the pipes. It was awful. And the elevators are super slow and spotty.
