Hulen Hall Dorm Reviews at Texas Tech

Good so far. Would appreciate if the rod and curtains are provided in the room. Storage is of good amount. Air conditioning is a bit old and can be improved upon. Move in experience was good. We could use the time slot as assigned and got the trolly to move the stuff.

The location of Hulen Hall was the best part about it. It was centrally located, with a ten minute walk to pretty much everything I needed on campus. The rooms were also in great shape, and the building as a whole was well maintained.

My time at Hulen was pretty good, I enjoyed the semester well enough that I would have considered living there again. It was pretty close to some of the buildings for my classes and even buildings off-campus. While there was maintenance issues with sinks throughout the floors which caused constant repairs and issues throughout the school year unfortunately. Also the fact that it was an older dorm compared to others on campus was a downside. Other than that, the staff was always nice and worked hard and I appreciated that very much.

Hulen Hall is very close to the SUB, The Commons, The Market, and Sam's place at Wall/Gates. It depends on who is living with you in Hulen Hall with how quiet it is. The Study Lounge and Common areas are quiet as well, not that much sound coming from those areas unless someone is eating lunch with a group of people. It could be that this year was a COVID year and that's why it's so quiet.

Honestly an okay stay at Hulen. There are nice staff, but they are horrible at attending to noise complaints. Very well rounded dorm on campus, close to the English and Psychology buildings. Overall a good stay for now.
