Weymouth Dorm Reviews at Texas Tech

Although Weymouth was not one of the top-tier dorms found at my college, it still provided the help and safety, any student searches for. As a freshman who never experienced a dorm life, I was thrilled with the time I spent. I believe any college student should have the chance to live in a dorm to experience the excitement of living on your own with new people around you. I have met some of the best people in my life while living at the dorms and I'm sure everyone else can too. It can be messy and dirty at times but I think that's what creates the beauty of it.

I will be starting in the fall, so far it is amazing. From what I have heard from several friends who have lived in the same building, they seem to love it. They recommended it to me and that is the reason I will be staying there.

You get to meet a lot of freshman but with the pandemic, it has been hard to live in the dorm. You always have to wear your mask and no visitors can really come but you can still go to others rooms. It is an experience everyone should have, but it is small and you have to communicate with your roommate. I have had a pretty good experience at my dorm with my roomie and everyone on my hall.

It was my first year at college and this dorm was very fun. It was easy to connect with everyone that lived on your floor because of the meetings we would have. The bathrooms were kind of gross and one bathroom door would not lock. The elevators were always broken and they would give off a sketchy vibe. Maintenance was very quick if there was an issue that needed to be fixed.

Overall experience was great! The location is perfect, with the student Rec Center and Sam West both less than a 3 min walk away. The staff both paid and student were both really helpful. The common area was also really lively.

For my first year off college and living in a dorm I feel that Weymouth was a great choice. You get the full college experience of living with another person and sharing bathrooms with many other people. With the coed floors of boys and girls I got to meet a lot of people. Weymouth was also in a great location being right across from the park and the rec and being close enough walking distance to good dining locations.

For my first year of college I actually enjoyed living in Weymouth. You really got the "true" college experience of living with another person and the communal bathrooms. Sometimes the neighbors were noisy but that really wasn't an issue. I liked the coed aspect where the floors alternated between male and female I feel that I really got to meet a lot of people. Also the location was great! Right across from the park and the Rec and really close to walk to get food from around campus.

very nice. I was impressed with the bathrooms. the only thing is how old they are and how small the rooms and hallways are. I feel like it would be a better experience if the rooms were larger and you were able to move the furniture around

Overall my experience at the dorms at Texas Tech was a perfect starting point for my journey on my own. Learning to grocery shop, manage time, cleanliness, and staying proactive were some of the many tools I learned while living there my first year at university. Some might say that the dorms were no enjoyable or to their extent of "good living". However, living in a dorm humbles a person and is a small introduction to adulthood. At times it was not my favorite such as when the heater broke, the roommate was loud, or when there just wasn't enough room. Facing these trials helped improve me not only as a roommate but as a person for the following years to come.

I stayed in Weymouth my freshman year at Tech. It is a first year only dorm, and so you can expect what you can expect from first years. Despite the maintenance and cleaning crews doing their best, the place always had things broken (including at least one elevator for almost the entire year), and the bathrooms were always messy and out of something. Having people scream in the hallway at all hours was a common occurrence as well. Overall, fine for your first year because you won't be there very often or for very long.
