Aspen House Dorm Reviews at UCCS

Overall, it's pretty decent. I have a private bedroom and there's lots of space underneath the bed for storage. However, it's clear these buildings are old as there's paint strippings everywhere and the elevator is constantly down and when it is working, I can't help but feel unsafe that it's going to break down when I'm in it. On top of that, there is no air conditioner so it's miserable during hot days.

I was only there for a semester but I feel like it was better than an average dorm experience. It was close to the dining hall and one of the biggest lecture halls, so very convenient. I had my own room so I feel like that was such a big plus, overall it was good, EXCEPT FOR NO AC IT WAS SO HOT

Granted that I spent my semester during Fal 2020, with 'rona at it's peak, it was bad. I had a roommate who spoke too much of her sex life too loudly, the doors kept having lock issues, and the bathrooms were...questionable. Not to mention that the sinks always clogged. But don't get me wrong. The Emergency RA was rad as hell. Helpful, too. There was always hot water to shower with, and you for certain weren't gonna freeze to death. Just watch out for internet death spikes. I panicked and bought a new ethernet cable when it turns out the internet was just down. Also, VO ELEVATORS. Do not go to Aspen house if you have a floor above one and are planning to take a lot of things. You will NOT have an elevator nor be accommodated.

It was not a particularly bad experience; however, I do not find myself wishing I could go back to it. It was a typical freshman dorm with minor problems. The main issue was that maintenance took forever to fix basic issues.
