Merrill College Dorm Reviews at UC Santa Cruz

My experience at Merrill College was fine. The bathrooms were the worst part, but I blame that on the students residing in the hall and not the staff. There were no common spaces within the dorm building and our rooms were smaller than expected. However, the staff did a good job of safety and keeping the building clean. I can't complain too much because it was an overall okay experience.

I met a lot of my closest friends at Merrill College. I had a great RA, he was super understanding and helpful. Merill is on the hill so just be prepared to get some nice calves, especially since the dining hall is closed on the weekend, but Vivas the Mexican restaurant in front of Building-A will save you.

Very quiet, nice distance from dining hall, mail room, and cultural center. Very clean and modern if that is what you are looking for. I would recommend but also keep in mind it is up the hill and can be tiring to get up to.

Merrill has a great library. I enjoy working in the library. It's also easy and convenient to work in my dorm. There is a great community at Merrill. Everyone is kind and helpful. I was able to a great dorm near the tree. It's really peaceful. I rarely ever heard loud noises.
