Martin Hall Dorm Reviews at UWF

Housing overall at UWF is extremely poor and disappointing. The resident assistants do their best and are as helpful as they can be but the upper housing staff at UWF is terrible to deal with. Martin Hall is constantly dealing with water issues; rusty pipes, massive leaks, leaking A/C units, etc. Many of the dorms, especially both of the Villages are riddled with black mold. Very little is done to help residents and/or respond to the mold.

Nice dorm and air conditioner is great, however it’s a long walk to classes. I wish it was a lot closer to the commons and all my classes. Hoping next year to have my car to make the commute to classes better.

I liked how me and my roommate had our own bathroom, instead of sharing with 2 other people. The room seemed ze was fair enough to move around and store things. The AC in the room is kinda complicated to operate. The common areas are constantly clean, but the kitchen majority of the time was a mess.

Mold was an issue in the bathrooms if you didn't air them out and it usually took multiple requests to fix anything. The RA's are good and actually helpful if someone is being disturbing/harrassing/or just being noisy past quiet time. Its located at the bottom of the stairs going up to the main campus so it is a serious trek to get to classes. I don't reccomend to anyone else with movement or pain disabilities.

I lived in Martin Hall as a Freshman and can't recommend it enough! Get the real college dorm experience with awesome staff and programs to participate in to meet new people! I even became an RA in Martin Hall my last two years at UWF and loved helping the new student adjust to college life. My college experience would not have been the same if I hadn't lived in Martin my first year at UWF. Go Argos!
