Byrd Hall Dorm Reviews at VSU

My experience at Byrd Hall could've been better. Yes, didn't have to worry about noise or extreme inconveniences but the overall dorm experience was not the best. The elevator didn't feel safe and there was trash everywhere. The bathrooms could've been cleaner and the overall state of the dormitory and lounge areas could improve.

So far my experience here has been great, at least in my opinion. The staff and maintenance people have been extremely nice and rather helpful. The rooms are rather roomy and I really appreciate the mini fridge and microwave. One thing that I would personally add in some air fresheners to the restrooms.

I was nice. The suites were ok. I did not like the laundry room. It should have more washers and dryers. I like that I could control the room temperature. The parking lots are too small. It's kind of weird that I need my ID to get on the elevator, but I guess it's for security purposes.

Before I enter Byrd Hall I was told that I had a private bathroom. However, when move in day came that was not the case. The first few days after moving in, I was little nerves as to how I would interact with the other people In my dorm. I was scared that my roommate would like and I was worried that would up having a messy roommate. Moving forward into the semester, I became really close to my RA's and GA's. I was able to come to them with any advice even outside of school work. I the RA's made it more comfortable for me to make Byrd Hall my home away from home. The only bad thing is cans ay about the hall were, the cleanliness of the bathrooms. The janitor used to rush her work and not really clean the mold that would appear in the showers. And the girls would leave all the personal items in the bathroom. However, my experience in Byrd Hall wasn't bad.
