Quad had their bathrooms. Every Saturday they would have trash people collect trash from outside your door. One of the best dorms experiences that I have had from my years of being. Of all the dorms I recommend this one more

VSU Quad 2

Virginia State University's Quad 2 building can be very noisy at times. Whether it's loud music or loud classmates throughout the building. The janitors try their best to maintain cleanliness throughout the building but fails. The laundry room is constantly having to be cleaned. The location of the quad is also very dangerous and need more protection. more

Byrd Hall

My experience at Byrd Hall could've been better. Yes, didn't have to worry about noise or extreme inconveniences but the overall dorm experience was not the best. The elevator didn't feel safe and there was trash everywhere. The bathrooms could've been cleaner and the overall state of the dormitory and lounge areas could improve. more

Gateway II

It can get rowdy at times, but that is to be expected at a university. There are many friends to meet, and there is a cafe dedicated to Gateway's location. Jones Hall tends to be slightly better in terms of food, but Gateway is closer to stores, such as Food Lion and Walmart. more

Quad 1

Quad 1 has been a great place to live while on campus. There is minimum noise in the hallways, rooms are nice a clean when you first arrive, plenty of space, and the common areas are nice as well. Overall quad 1 is a great dorm and I am very happen that I was able to live here while attending Virginia State University. more

Quad 2

Quad 2 is a co-Ed dormitory it is very relaxing and has many studying opportunities for students,but the students are sometimes very messy and leave things like the laundry room floor wet for people to slip and fall also the gate doors lock so if you have love ones visiting make sure they don’t park inside because they will be locked inside of the campus and you might be fined. more

Whiting Hall

My experience at Whiting is not bad, it did take some time getting used to because Whiting Hall is an old building, so it does have a mildew type of smell. That only applies to the stairwell and in the hallway though. I recommend buying plug-ins. The room is spacious though, and I do enjoy that. more
