Pritchard Hall Dorm Reviews at VA Tech

Pritchard was always loud and always had a lot going on. The location is good and some people see the noise as good, which is why a lot of people choose to live there. There was messes in most places, but in the girl's hall it wasn't as bad. The cleaning staff was always so nice and pleasant.

During the week, Pritchard was a fine place to live. However, the bathrooms were dirty in hard to reach places ex: the showers had lots of bugs, some shower curtains were completely missing and ripped. Only a few showers had hot water. On the weekends, Pritchard was very loud but also very social and easy to meet new people. Everyone was very friendly and it was very fun when everyone on your hall was getting ready and playing music.

Social, somewhat loud, but the people are really cool. Odd numbered floors are more chill while even ones get crazy. Dorms are a little small but fine. No AC, so bring fans. If you are a social person, you will love it, but as a less social person I have been just fine so far.

Pritchard Hall was a great place to meet other new students at Virginia Tech. However, there was no air conditioning in the dorm and the general areas of the dorm were pretty dirty. There was rarely hot water in the showers and all bathrooms, including the female bathrooms, had urinals in them.

Let's just say the rumors are true. For example, the noise is definitely there. The tidyness is somewhat there but needs more improvement. As for the location, it's fine. It's close to bus stops and other needed features.

Honestly, unless you're gonna be in a frat or really enjoy unholy smells, this dorm isn't for you. Plain and simple. The freshmen have a horrible ritual of purposefully setting off the fire alarm - it's awful.

Pritchard is for party people, rushing girlies, and heavy sleepers. The dorm will have over 20 fire alarms pulled, some at 1 PM and others at 3 AM during finals week. Honestly, it wasn't the worst. If you grew up with siblings and are pretty tolerant, you will make it just fine. The RAs (now called SLs) are very chill and the location being right next to DX is great.

I lived on the 3rd floor in Pritchard Hall and while the bathrooms weren't particularly nice, the people that lived on my floor were really dope and cool people. I made a lot of friends here and felt like I had a great sense of community.

Pritchard Hall is a traditional residence hall, it might not be the nicest or most clean dormitory but it has a lot of energetic people for sure. It is a pretty convenient location and although this pandemic has been rough, it is still possible to make friends in this dorm.

Pritchard Hall has been fun because of the people in it, but the facilities leave much to be desired. The common areas are fun and comfortable, but, mostly due to the residents, Pritchard is a chaotic place. It is often trashed on the weekends, or even weekdays, due to it being a party dorm. There are also a LOT of fire alarms, sometimes even multiple in a single night. The dorm as a whole is outdated compared to the others on campus, facilities wise, and I wouldn't call it very safe considering the building's doors can be opened without using a key card. Overall, there are much better places on campus, but Pritchard is certainly livable.

A generic college dorm, exclusively double traditional style rooms. The bathrooms are generally pretty gross. Everything fourth floor and below gets pretty gross because of the main lounges, but 5th 6th and 7th are okay. Cheap place to live and sinks in the rooms are handy.

My experience at Pritchard and in Pritchard was exactly as I had hoped. It was different because of Covid, but lovely all the same. I loved the hall style setup and of course it doesn’t work for everyone, but it was GREAT for getting to know people. It was even more clean and organized than I expected.

Pritchard Hall is one of the largest dorms on VT campus. This allowed for unique living opportunities in that there was always something going on if you were in the mood to be social, however, it was never overly loud and trying to find quiet time was not a challenge. It was a prime location that was close to dining/cafe, the gym, and most importantly the football and basketball stadium.

While not the newest living space at Tech, it is very open and friendly. Easy to meet people the first few weeks! People usually choice this hall with the hopes of finding outgoing people like themselves.

The only issue I had with Pritchard were the number of fire alarms we had. They would go off in the middle of the night, waking you up, and you would have to get dressed to go outside. The fire alarms were very sensitive to any form of smoke, and they went off more then 20 times in one semester.

Pritchard Hall is a very lively dorm hall. I have met amazing people here, even with the COVID-19 regulations. This is an older dorm that could use updating. Having no AC is hard during the hot days we encounter in Virginia.
