Thompson Hall Dorm Reviews at Western Illinois

The rooms are small when trying to adjust to a new space and a roommate. The bathrooms seem to have not changed for 30 years but they function fine. The dining room is a nice area to sit down with our food.

The building looks very modern on the outside, but the dorms are very small. This could make someone feel very claustrophobic. Also depending on where you are at in the building it could be very hot especially since you our on the top There's the dining room by the entrance that serves decent food.

I think Thompson Hall is a great first experience dorm hall. I lived in Thompson for two years and never had any major problems. Even when there was a leak in my room, the maintenance people were very quick and friendly when fixing the leak.

Personally, I loved Thompson I wish I was able to stay in it again, it's close to major buildings where a lot of people have most of their classes, it's close to the rec and has a close bus stop. the only bad thing about it is the fire alarms so be prepared for at least 2-3 a month. Also, depending on how you set up your room it can feel very spacious more than the other dorms.

Thompson Hall overall pretty good compared to the other dorm halls. It has a huge dinning hall. They always have a lot of different options to offer in this dining hall. The rooms a slightly bigger. The only down fall is all the fire alarms that would go off every week. I mean at least once a week a fire alarm would go off. We are also not allowed to control the temperature in the room. Depending on which floor you get it could be really quiet or really loud. It all depends. I really liked it other than the fire alarms.

My overall experience has been great, except for when the shooting happened. Other than that I have felt safe and enjoy my living here. I also enjoy being able to live with my best friend. It made the transition to college a lot easier and less anxious.

The building wasRight near my classes. It was easy to walk to class and the area around was beautiful. The parking is depressing but every college has that problem. The building is beautiful inside and out. The bathrooms get the occasion nasty incident but the staff makes sure to clean thoroughly.

It’s a very nice, quiet building. I’ve met some very fine people here. Wish the parking lot for freshmen was a little larger but oh well, the morning walk is healthy for me. My room is in good condition and I’m satisfied with its size.

My experience here has been life changing. It has allowed me to meet new friends and experience life on my own as a young adult. I feel that the staff care about us and want us to succeed. My experience has been great so far.
