Higginson Hall Dorm Reviews at Washington

It looks like a motel, and the rooms are very small. There is less sense of community than most other dorms. But you only have to share a bathroom with three people and the location is great. It is relatively quiet, and the common spaces are pretty pleasant.

I honestly really liked it here. It's a nice and comfortable community. Doesn't feel cramped. A lot of people don't like the outside-hallway look, but I always found it nice to be able to step outside for a breath of fresh air anytime, and I feel like it reallyyy decreased my worries about fire hazards. You also don't get in trouble for being loud anywhere as much. Honestly pretty vibes and right next to the best dining hall (the VU) and red square. Walkable to downtown!!!

I lived there my freshman year and I felt there was many benefits to it. The in-suite bathrooms are always nice to have and it helps dictate the cleanliness of the space. It is harder to meet people since it isn’t tradition dorm style. The location is okay, it’s near a dining hall but it is right on the edge of campus and it was often noisy with the amount of traffic that would pass by.

I love my experience in Higginson Hall. It is a suite style so I have a bathroom attached to my room which is super nice. The community is super accepting and inclusive and it’s easy to make friends. The staff and maintenance team are friendly and it is almost always very clean. The downside is Higginson is located at the bottom of a hill so it’s a workout to get to the dining hall every meal.
