South Russell Hall Dorm Reviews at Baylor

As I toured South Russell Hall during orientation I felt a true sense of excitement that I know I am going to spend my first year at South Russell. Located near the heart of campus it is by far the best hall to meet people, make connections, and find yourself while undergoing the college experience.

My experience at South Russell Hall was amazing! As part of the Impact/Education LLC, it was good to connect with other students who are passionate about education and helping others. There were many social events to help with connecting to others, helping the community, and building the community within South Russell. Many of my new friends I made this year were made in the common area of South Russell and I would highly recommend this dorm experience to anyone looking for a good community or opportunity to serve others.

South Russell is a great place to stay due to it's location and facilities. It is always clean and well maintained, and everyone is friendly and willing to help out if you have a problem. My only complaint is that because my room was right next to the common area it could get a little noisy sometimes.

I love my experience t South Russell Hall! I have lived here for two years and have really enjoyed it. The staff here are amazing and all the residents here that I have met are great! The common areas are kept clean and neat and there is a CL on call 24/7.

I am a freshman living in one of the triple rooms at South Russell Hall, or SO RO as it is sometimes called. It is connected to North Russell hall with a courtyard in the middle and two tunnels on either side. I think it's a great dorm and I am currently considering staying for the rest of my college career.

I loved the whole staff when I lived there. I especially loved my CL and I still love her, she is an incredible person and I am so sad she is graduating this upcoming semester. The dorm is also super safe and there was never a time I felt unsafe. The maintenance was also pretty good. The dorm for the most part was clean. However, there was one point where it didn’t seem like our showers were getting cleaned, but that was quickly fixed. The only recurring cleanliness issue was that girls would leave clumps of hair in the shower, but I kind of expected that because the cleaning staff obviously is not going to clean the shower after each person uses one. South Russel was also a pretty quiet dorm. The only noise issues we had were girls who lived in North Russel because I lived on the hall that connects to North Russel and some of those girls would gather in the common area but they were super loud (our CL had to get on to them a lot, even though it’s supposed to the North Russel CL’s job). Overall, I would highly recommend living in South Russel because it’s clean (especially compared to Collins) safe, and quiet. The location is also pretty good, the only down side is that it’s pretty far from all dining halls except Penland. BUT, if you are a student who will have many classes in the BSB, would maybe look for a different dorm because South Russel is not very close to the BSB.

South Russell hall is a great choice for a freshman year dorm. It is close to Penland dining hall and is close to other big attractions on campus, making it very convenient! I have loved living there and would recommend to future incoming bears!

South Russell is a good place to meet other freshmen especially because its an LLC. It also has some of the cheapest dorms on campus which is good for those trying to save the most money. Its very close to the sub and the library.

South Russell is a fantastic, clean, joyful, welcoming community. While it is quiet and restful, there is still great opportunity for socialization and fun in the basement and study areas. The dorms are filled with peers who are equally interested in uplifting community and bettering community (inside and outside the walls of your dormitory)!

It was a nice play to live. Sometimes the building stank, like BAD. I believe they would do something with the vents, still not sure why it smelt so mad but it was horrid. happnened once a month for a few hours so it was bearable. otherwise it was a pretty good dorm minus community bathrooms

South Russell (AKA Impact LLC) has been a great living experience. Compared to other dorms on campus, I feel that the students here at South Russell Hall are more committed to prioritizing their education. People are always studying together in the common areas, and everyone is kind and friendly. The Impact LLC provides residents with plenty of opportunities to positively impact the community, and the amenities are good (good bathrooms and nice rooms). Overall, I would recommend this for anyone majoring in education or someone who wants a basic but good/clean dorm experience.

I loved living at SouthRussell. The center location on campus made it easy to access campus buildings, and it never took me more than 10 minutes to get to the opposite end of campus. South Russel's basement was one of the highlights of living there-it includes a game room and study area, perfect for weekend fun and studying. The smaller community size of South Russell also made it easy to find friends and connect with a larger group of people.
