Really cool place with amazing people and good vibes. The practice rooms and the common areas are super spacious, but on the other side, the bathrooms are not, from my personal perspective that's the only flaw of this building.

My experience at 270 was varied, as I imagine it is for most residents. 270 is one of the "worst" dorms to live in at Berklee according to most students. It is the furthest dorm building from the main campus buildings, there are often mice in the hallways and sometimes the rooms, there is no air conditioning, and the building is ultimately very old. In my personal experience, I lived in the room at the front of the building, which shook every time the front door slammed shut. Notwithstanding all these negatives, I did cherish my time at 270 because, since nobody likes to stay in their rooms, most students tend to hang out in the common areas, so there is a strong sense of community at 270 and a specific unique vibe that the other dorm buildings lack. It is definitely not the best place to live, but it is sometimes a nice place to be with other people.

In short, 270 Commonwealth Ave doesn't feel like a dorm. Its more of a homely vibe where you get to know everyone in your building at some point. It's not the best distance from Berklee main campus but its a nice walk , somedays , others- not so much. The bathrooms are cleaned regularly but they are public and common use so , the shower stall is tiny and you have to wake up early for the bathroom in the mornings! Overall, I enjoyed 270 commonwealth ave, because it reminded me of home(India) and wasn't too hard adjusting to everything. The walk, though, for morning classes especially, isn't it . But, if you want an experience that you won't forget , 270 is the one.

Overall, I really loved this dorm and it will always have a special place in my heart. The only downsides were the bathrooms and showers but the rooms themselves were quite spacious and felt more like a home more than a true "college dorm" would feel. This used to be an old hotel and we can definitely see that with the character of the building as well. The practice rooms in the basement were nice too, I have never really had a problem there, especially since they connect to 266 practice rooms, so you can usually get one easily. There is a gym, large rec. room, a kitchen, laundry, all that good stuff, located in the basement, which was all usually pretty clean as well. The 270 building also connects to 266 so it is nice to have neighbors close by but spread out. The walk to campus is about 0.5 miles, so its a little more of a hike than the other dorms, but it is also nice to be able to get away from the whole campus and have your own little community close by, but still distanced from the "heart" of campus.
