I enjoy staying at ResCo. The layout of the rooms are open and overall itβs a very nice living space. The only area I do not like about ResCo is the bathroom. The bathroom does not provide much privacy with only a stall for the toilet area and two curtains for the shower.

I had an overall good experience at ResCo. The actual building looked like a prison but it was structurally sound and kept the noise to a minimum. We had a suite style dorm and the bathroom was okay - the shower is cramped and the toilet is in its own stall. The common spaces were okay - I don't recall doing much there and it seemed quite outdated during the time I went there (circa 2017/2018). I had a great roommate so that could be positively affecting my opinion!

I enjoyed my stay here however it was very easy to get in and out of the building as a nonresident which is concerning. The cost of laundry is quite high as well considering that the laundry machines arent great.

I absolutely loved staying in Resco my freshman year. You get to experience this big life transition with a close nit group that you donβt necessarily y get in the other dorms. The in-house dining area is just an added bonus.

Resco is nicely placed so it is easy to walk anywhere on the main campus. It is generally quiet and well maintained. It as a laundry room in its basement as well as one of the two dining halls on campus on its main floor, which makes life easier during Indiana winter.

I am in a currently waiting to be renovated wing of the dorms. This means things are older and yes, they are waiting to be fixed. However, my ratings are based off of the room I currently have and the wing I am currently in. My room is on the third floor B wing, so no noise from above unless it is raining very hard. The walls are slightly thin so, when people are being loud in the halls, or in a room next to you, you can hear them. I am in a room close to a study lounge, so I can hear people when they are loud in there as well. The room itself is decent, has a closet, desk, bed, and dresser. However, my issues lie within the bathroom. The very first day I was on campus, the pipe below my sink was unattached and I had to have maintenance come and fix it. The bathroom just feels old. The shower is my least favorite part, it feels like a coffin or just small box. I can't put my elbows out without hitting both walls. Sometimes, I will hit my head on the shower head while washing my hair. Now, like I said this is the unrenovated portion of Resco. The new renovated bathrooms are very nice. I'm jealous of those showers, they are very big. The janitorial staff are very nice and so are the dining hall staff. I also enjoy having a dining hall in my residence hall for nights where I just don't want to go out. One last thing I will say about Resco is that it seems to be more sociable than Irvington. People seem to want to be out of their rooms more and that way, talk to people more.

Bathrooms are terrible and come dirty minus some of the newly redone rooms. Noise is constant and policy not well enforced. Good news is there is one of two food courts in the building which is nice for the winter.

Resco, despite being the oldest dorm, is a great place to live (although having never lived in the other dorms, I can't say for sure). Irvington, which is the newer dorm, and Fairbanks, the sophomore dorm, have a lot more problems with partying, and are also a lot worse about following COVID guidelines. Resco has a dining hall inside, which is nice on rainy days. However, if the kitchen is smoking something you will smell it from your room. Cons of living in Resco: bathroom plumbing is really terrible. The shower shudders and rattles whenever it's turned on, the toilet and sinks are extremely loud whenever they are used, and the sinks are prone to overflowing. Several rooms in my hall have experienced their sinks inexplicably filling with black water and then overflowing. Maintenance is really nice about it, and always comes to fix it (although they don't always come in a timely manner), and housekeeping comes in afterwards to clean up. There's a feeling of community in the Resco dorm that I don't see in the other dorms, which makes it a special place to live.

In Resco, you learn really good ways to navigate throughout the dorms, as well as good find good places for studying. Living in Resco, I have been able to learn much about people from many different walks of life, and have been able to get along with people I would rather not think I would be able to get along with. When doing laundry in Resco, I am able to meet and talk to many nice people, and am able to have interesting conversations as well.
