Pierce & White Hall Dorm Reviews at BVU

I like it, however there are a few problems. The hand dryers are very loud, and paper towels are not an option. There are no urinals in the men's bathroom, but there are urinals in the women's restroom, for some reason. The rooms are nice, but the walls are kind of thin. The bathrooms smell like a barn. Don't run a black-light across the walls. Trust me.

I loved living in Pierce White Hall. It has a great central location, and provides and amazing experience of dorm community. The RA's do a really good job of facilitating community are are there to support their residents in anything they may need.

In the time that I've been here, Pierce & White Hall has been a satisfactory dorm to reside within. The space within the dorms themselves are spacious, being about 11 feet wide, by 15.5 feet long, and almost 8 feet high. They are equipped with beds, wardrobes, dressers, and desks, all of which can be moved freely about the dorm. The beds themselves are also able to be adjusted height-wise. Additionally, every room possesses a heating and cooling unit (not included in room & board pricing) and an adjustable window. There is enough room for me and my roommate to reside comfortably within our own spaces without feeling as though we are crowding each other, even with the addition of her cat, which is allowed in the dorm as an ESA (emotional support animal). In that same case, the dorms are animal-friendly with given paperwork and a roommate agreement, if necessary. Throughout the hall, there are kitchens located on the main and upper floors for ease of convenience, and an elevator which allows access to the downstairs laundry room where about 20 washers and dryers are present for free use. Rec rooms are also located on three of the five floors, with televisions equipped with plug-ins for gaming and media devices, and comfortable seating of both couches and chairs. The centered location of Pierce & White within the campus allows one to be able to travel relatively easily to all parts of campus with an approximate five minute window. This makes it easy to get in-and-out of any harsh weather conditions that may occur. However, there is also the option of the two tunnels which lead out from underneath the hall to the other nearby buildings in case of worse conditions. Most students I've encountered during my stay are considerably respectful of others in terms of noise and cleanliness throughout the dorm hall. I have experienced some noise issues on occasion, but none have been consistent enough to disrupt my study or relaxation habits. The atmosphere itself is homely and friendly, and thus it allows me to feel comfortable in my own environment. My only major complaint is the state of the bathrooms, which, in my experience, are clean a majority of the time, with the only exception being the showers, which are sometimes not as respectfully kept as pristine by the students as the staff attempt to keep them. They are not dirty enough, though, that I'm unable to clean myself in them. Nevertheless, I would definitely recommend Pierce & White Hall to other students who may be considering it as a possible on-campus home.
