Herrig Hall Dorm Reviews at CMU

Overall, it's a pretty decent place to live and I do like the location of it. It's pretty close to my classes. My furthest class is about a 15-minute walk from here. As for the maintenance of the halls, the staff are prompt to respond to whatever issues and solve them as soon as possible.

Overall, Herrig Hall was a very friendly environment to be in, the staff were helpful (RA's, front desk, etc.), the rooms were nice and the provided bathrooms were rather nice and clean. It was never super loud when I needed it to be quiet and overall was a great experience!

Being a first year student, Herrig Hall is a good fit for me. Overall it is fairly quiet, but it is also close to pretty much everything. There is dining and a gym in the community it is attached to as well. The bathrooms are look dirty no matter how much you clean it it seems, but I think that's just due to the color choices by the university.

Herrig Hall is home to the majority of music majors at Central; while it's not always the quietest, residents are all very respectful of each other because we all are taking many of the same classes and have plenty of time to get to know each other in and out of the classrooms and dorms! Living in Herrig Hall is also the most convenient because many of the building classes are housed in are less than a 7-minute walk away. Herrig Hall and the surrounding dorms in East campus stay open during holiday breaks, which is convenient for students who may not want to go home over a holiday break. Herrig Hall is also connected to the highest quality dining hall on campus, Fresh Food Company.
