Troutman Tower Dorm Reviews at CMU

Troutman Tower was a great community to experience. The people here were very nice and supporting of incoming freshmen like me! They were there to talk and immediately become your friend. If you had a problem with where to find tutoring, they will help you by send links to where to find and set up a tutoring appointment. They maintenance arrive the same day, if not then the next day, to help fix any appliance that you file for. The staff is very nice and friendly as well.

Troutman Hall is where all first year MAC scholar recipients must stay. I'm a second year, but decided to stay because of cost. Overall, my experience in Troutman Hall has been positive. The RHD is a stickler, and the dorm isa little small, but it's clean and quiet! :)

My time in Troutman has taught me many things about living in a place that is not your home. I used to not understand while my mom would clean the house before anyone came over but when I had friends over I finally understood why she did. I always had to clean up and make my dorm look nice so they wouldn't think I was a slob. that was a great lesson for me and I have been very happy with the space and comfort of the dorm.

This hall is just a hall, there is not anything special about it. It has a common room and the bedroom and pre-covid, it was three to four people in a room but this changed to two people in one room when covid hit. I am glad it changed to two people per room beecause I can't help but wonder how claustaphobic it would have been if four people lived in there. Though I know that is part of the college experinece, I think troutman should be a 2 or 3 person hall.

I would say Troutman Hall is perfect for those who entering CMU for the first time (Freshman) because everyone was really friendly to get along with and I meet some of my first college friends there too.
