Eaglin Hall Dorm Reviews at Coastal Carolina

My experience at Eaglin Hall wasn't bad. Sometimes there was noise but for the most part everything was fine. The public restrooms were always clean. They did extra cleaning on the stairs and elevators to make sure everyone was during covid.

While I can't say I hated living in Eaglin, it could have been better. The best part of eaglin was the room options, my room had four dorms connected by a "living room" with a shared bathroom. I lived on the first floor so I didn't have to deal with the constant "out of order" elevator but living on the first floor comes with the occasional giant black bug in your bathroom. Eaglin was the only building that didn't have a front security desk, which I didn't mind. Eaglin's door lock was also often broken so the doors were almost always propped open with garbage cans. All in all I didn't mind living in Eaglin since I had my own room and it was in between the dining hall and the gym. However if safety is your biggest concern, I would not recommend Eaglin hall to you.

Overall, Eaglin Hall is a safe place that I enjoy living in. With that being said, there are a few things that could use improvement. Typically, there are people in the common area causing a lot of disturbances after quiet hours which makes falling asleep or concentrating on my work difficult.

The experience has been different with COVID. Eaglin is one of the cheaper dorms, and is definitely not the best on campus, but it is not terrible. There is usually a good amount of noise, but there are quiet times that RA's uphold. The location is directly next to the dining hall which is convenient.

It isn't a bad dorm for the price, honestly. Maintenance gets slacky sometimes, and the halls can get super messy during party weekends on campus. The actual rooms themselves aren't bad and the bathrooms are pretty nice compared to what I've seen in the Woods.

I would say that it has been good overall. It isn't a 5-star hotel or anything, but it is a decent place to live. Maintenance is very nice and fast when you contact them. The only thing I would complain about is the cleanliness of the hallways.
