If you get on the MUSICOM eboard and live there you get a prime selection on rooms. Some of the doubles and singles are REAL big. Definitely would recommend for a sophomore or junior looking for something on north or hopefully get lucky as a freshman.

I lived at JAM my first year and a half at Cornell (my fourth semester at Cornell was actually overseas), and it was a fantastic experience. The facilities were all fine and the spaces clean, no more or less so than any other dorm that I knew of at the university. It was next to a dining facility and study center, which was very convenient. What made it a fantastic place to live, though, was that it was full of musicians, most of whom wanted to collaborate musically, and it had a wonderful practice / performance room open to all residents. It was easy to make friends there, and even easier to make music. If I had to do it all over, I would again live at JAM.

JAM is a good place to live for any student interested in music, whether that be in a recreational, academic, or professional capacity. There were lots of opportunities to get involved with other JAM residents through events like open-mic nights.
